endeavour awards scholarship Yan Zhou (Della) Endeavour VET Awards winner Chinese national Yan Zhou (Della) is one of the prestigious winners of the 2011 Endeavour Vocational Education and Training Awards. The Endeavour VET Awards is a government scholarship program that provides successful applicants with the opportunity to study in Australia. Della described herself as being elated and extremely honoured to have been the only student from China selected for an Endeavour VET Award in 2011. She has chosen to study the Diploma of Information Technology (Networking) at Central and will commence her course in the second semester of this year. No stranger to Central, Della is a teacher from Chongqing Electric Power College, one of the colleges Central partners with to deliver offshore VET courses. As a teacher who specialises in IT programming, Della also works as a TAFE Program coordinator at the college, in addition to being in charge of Australian lecturer liaison.

Della also wants to experience the Australian culture, not just as a tourist but as a temporary resident, and is particularly looking forward to improving her conversational and written English with her teachers and other students. “By communicating with teachers and other students in Australia, we can exchange our ideas and thinking, learn from each other, hence strengthen the linkage between China and Australia” she said. We look forward to welcoming Della to Central and encouraging other prospective students to explore the range of Endeavour Awards scholarships available.
