Worcester Business Improvement District (BID) Street Ranger (2) (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday) Job Title Organisation Reporting to Salary scale Job Description Worcester Business Improvement District (BID) Street Ranger (2) 4 days per week (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday). Normal working hours are 9am until 5.30pm The post is fixed term running until 31 st March 2015 with the possibility of an extension. There is an initial 6 month probationary period. Annual Leave entitlement – 28 days (pro rata) which includes bank holiday entitlement (8 days – pro rata) The post includes the requirement to work occasional Sundays, occasional evening work and to cover for other staff as and when requested. Worcester Business Improvement District (BID) BID Manager £15,000 - £16,000 per annum (pro rata) with an expectation of starting at the lower end of the scale. Increments of £250 are only given at the discretion of the Worcester BID Remuneration Committee. There is also a stakeholder pension scheme available to join after a qualifying period Location Externally within the Worcester BID area with base at 4 Copenhagen Street, Worcester, WR1 2EY Job Purpose The Ranger works to assist visitors to the BID area, as well as employees and customers of the BID member businesses. The Ranger is a visible presence on the streets within the area and to act as the eyes and ears of the company, reporting and monitoring activity. Duties and Responsibilities 1. To act as a friendly, reliable information guides for any users of Worcester city centre and BID businesses Patrolling the BID area covering all streets Dealing with queries, complaints and requests from members of the public, local BID businesses and visitors to the city centre and building relationships to encourage repeat visits Recording all queries and outcomes accurately using hand held devices Act as an ambassador for the Worcester BID 2. To provide a link between businesses and public services by reporting any issues and help to ensure that these are addressed quickly Visit an average of at least 9 businesses per day.
