The Backers screens are suitable to use in many
different materials such as; compost, soil, gravel,
various wood products, commercial waste etc. The
2-ha and 2-hta are equipped with a hookliftsystem
for easy transport. For easy moving on the jobsite
the 2-hta is equipped with a liftable track-undercarriage
as well. Depending on the material and the
required end fractions, there is a choice between
various screen decks. To find a solution for almost
any application there is a various choice of options.
For example: an auger in the in feed bunker
for better feeding in light material, magnetic head
roll on the different out feed conveyors for the
separation of possible metal contamination, radio
remote control to control the machine from a distance,
cleaning system to keep the screen deck
clean and prevent blockages, stars made of PU in
stead of rubber, for low energy consumption and
less wear in certain circumstances, aluminium distance
bushes for better screening of sticky or light
material like compost, humus etc., grizzly deck to
protect the first screen deck against heavy pieces,
wind shifter to separate light pieces like paper and
plastic, automatic central lubrication etc.

2-ma
The Backers 2-ma is a 2-fraction mobile star screen
on wheels, available as 5th-Wheel trailer or pintle
hitch. The Backers star screens built well considered
and are very accessible for maintenance. The hydraulic
system of the Backers star screens are over
measured to guarantee a long lifespan, but also to
consider the need to extend the machine with an external
conveyor and/or extra separate screen deck.

Other varieties of the 2-fraction star screens are:
the 2-ta, equipped with track undercarriage to
be able to screen on difficult accessible locations
and the 2-sa, the semi-mobile/stationary variant
available with diesel engine as well as with electric
motors. Various screen decks are available variable
from 12 to 120 mm. Backers continuously keeps
searching for new developments and improvements
to keep ahead on the demands in the market.

3-ma/mal/sa
With the 3-fraction screens Backers uses the
screening principle: the first screening step (coarse
screening) and the second screening step (fine
screening). Advantages of this screening principle
are:
- Less wear: the more fragile second screen deck
is protected from big pieces, so lesser wear, by
doing the coarse screening on first deck with
bigger shafts and stronger stars.
- Bigger screen capacity: the first coarse deck has
bigger openings so automatically more capacity,
secondly this means a better more spread to the
second deck, this results in a higher capacity of
the fine screening as well.
- Better separation: higher quality end product,
because second (fine) screen deck is fed more
spread and the material is already loosened,
which results in better separation.
The “a” in the name indicates that the middle
fraction (accepts) is discharging straight out the
back of the machine. There are 3 variations: the
3-ma is a 5th-Wheel trailer model, the 3-mal is
the same as the 3-ma, but with a 1,9 m longer
first screen deck and the 3-sa is like the 2-sa
a semi-mobile/stationary variant available with
diesel engine as well as with electric motors, but
with 3-fractions.

3-mb/mbl

The “b” in name indicates that the middle fraction
(accepts) just like the fine fraction (fines) is discharged
to the side, accepts to the left and fines
to the right. Just like the 3-ma and the 3-mal, the
3-mb and the 3-mbl are 5th-Wheel trailer models
and the first screen deck of the 3-mbl is 1,9 meter
longer than the first screen deck of the 3-mb. Just
as all Backers screens the 3-mb and the 3-mbl are
equipped with an operating system with a CAN-
BUS connection for easy access and programming
of the operating system. All screens equipped
with a diesel engine can be optional outfitted with
a reversible fan to keep the radiator clean in dusty
environments and keep optimal cooling of the engine
guaranteed.
Furthermore the machines can be optionally outfitted
with a reversing fan for the hydraulic system to
guarantee an optimal cooling here as well.

3-mtb/mtbl/mtbc
The 3-mtb, 3-mtbl and 3-mtbc are star screens equipped with
a 5th-Wheel trailer and a track undercarriage. This means there
is need for a low-bed loader to transport the machine and
because of the tracks it has the flexibility to move itself around
on the jobsite. The 3-mtb and 3-mtbl are identical machines
with one difference, that the 3-mtbl has a 1,9 meter longer
first screen deck.
The 3-mtbc is equipped with a cement/chalk mixing unit, with
this unit you can add cement and/or chalk to the end fraction
to create and end product that can be used as soil stabilization.
The 3-mtb series is particular suitable in a various products
like: compost, construction debris, soil mixed with stones,
household waste (pre-shredded), gravel, top soil, woodchips,
bark, peat, etc.

3-tb/tbl/sb

If flexibility on site and/or working on rough terrain
is one of the requirements, Backers has the
solution with the 3-tb and 3-tbl (1,9 meter longer
first screen deck) Star screens. Also these machines
can be outfitted with the cleaning system in
order to clean the screen deck when working in
difficult materials, with a push of a button or automatically.
There is also the choice for a semi-mobile/
stationary solution, the 3-sb, available with diesel
engine as well as with electric motors.

Tiger
If a bigger capacity is needed, up to 300 m³ per
hour (depending on material and end fraction),
Backers offers the Tiger model. The Tiger model
has, in stead of 1,2 meter wide screen decks
as with the standard models, 1,7 meter wide (1st
deck) and 1,8 meter wide (2nd desk) screen decks.
Beside that the Tiger models are equipped with a
224 kW strong Caterpillar C-9 water cooled diesel
engine. To be able to reach the higher capacity the
Tiger is outfitted with a bigger 8 m³ infeed hopper.
Just like with the other Backers models the Tiger
can be equipped with a wind shifter on the middle
fraction (accepts) as well as on the over fraction
(overs), to take out light material from these fractions.
