The terminal must not be plugged in the same power outlet as devices with no
1.4 Battery
1.5 SIM card
The VX520 payment terminal uses a GRPS connection in the Sonera mobile network
for data transfer.
The SIM card in the device is ready for use.
PLEASE NOTE: If you suspect or have noticed there is something
wrong with the SIM card, please contact Sonera Customer
Service.
To insert the battery, put it in position and press down until it snaps into place.
A B C
The SIM card slot is located under the battery. Insert the SIM card chip down and
folded corner down.
During normal use, the battery should be recharged whenever the charge is 1% or
lower. When the payment terminal is connected to a power supply, it automatically
starts to recharge the battery. The LED light next to the display blinks orange when
the battery is being recharged. The light turns green when the battery is full. When
the battery is nearly empty, the light is red. You can always keep the payment terminal
connected to a power supply, as this has no effect on battery life. Ideally, let the
payment terminal recharge at night. This way, the battery is full when the working day
begins, and automatic batch transmission can be performed at night.
1. Press LILA4. Type the daily password and press Enter.
2. Choose EDIT F4, scroll down with LILA2 and select ONLINE BATCH F4.
3. Choose ON F2.
••
Online batch is a function which sends information on each payment transaction to
the real-time database of the Point reporting service. This is to prevent the loss of
information from the payment terminal. In connection with the next manual or automatic
transaction transmission the transactions stored in the database change
status in the Point reporting service and will be automatically sent to the recipient.
••
The option CONDITIONAL for online batches is available for terminal devices using
GPRS. If an offline transaction is made (the card is not verified), the terminal will
not make an online transmission of the transaction. When a verified transaction is
carried out, the terminal makes an online transmission of the transaction and also
sends any transactions that have been queued.
4.2.2 Online batch
Online batch settings enable you to choose the maximum sum and number of transactions
memory as an online batch to Point reporting.
NOTE! If you wish to edit these settings, please contact Sonera’s
• TCS QUEUE COUNT = The maximum number of the transactions in queue. After
this number is reached, the terminal will send all of the transactions in queue (e.g.
4.3.6 Issue report
The payment terminal sends the transactions to Point’s reporting service. The service
forwards the transactions in batches to banks or card companies. If there is a problem
in the batch transmission, this will be indicated in a problem report. In order that paper
could be saved, problem reports always contain a maximum of 20 batches with problems.
Below is a list of the problem types occurring in problem reports, and of the actions
that need to be taken to remedy the problems. The problem report is displayed on the
payment terminal until the problems have been acknowledged or the batches reprocessed.
The transaction recipient here refers to the bank or card company to which
the transactions are sent from Point’s reporting service. When a batch has been
acknowledged, it cannot be re-sent under any circumstances. Batch acknowledgement
is always the entrepreneur’s responsibility.
• PENDING = The batch is waiting to be sent to the recipient.
Action = Not needed. The batch will be sent automatically.
• OLD TRANSACTIONS = The payment terminal has sent transactions that are
older than 20 days.
Action = The batch can be sent by Point. Contact Point’s customer service. If the
transactions have already been re-processed in some other way, the batch can be
acknowledged from the service or the payment terminal.
• SENT TO BANK FAILED = The sending of the batch to the recipient has failed.
Action = Contact the recipient and check why the transmission has failed. If the
batch needs to be re-sent, it will be done by Point. Please contact Point’s customer
service. If the batch has been processed by the bank, it can be acknowledged
from the service or payment terminal.
• NOT SENT, CONTAINS DUPLICATES = The batch has not been sent, as it
contains duplicate transactions.
Action = Contact your bank and check the duplicates included in the batch. If the
batch needs to be re-sent to the bank, it will be done by Point. Please contact
Point’s customer service. If the batch has been processed in some other way, it
can be acknowledged from the service or payment terminal.
• SENT TO BANK, REPORT OVERDUE = The batch has been sent to the recipient,
but no response has been received yet.
Action = Contact the recipient and check that the transmission has succeeded.
Acknowledge the batches from the service or payment terminal.
• ALL REJECTED = The response states that the batch has been declined.
Action = Contact the recipient and check why part of the batch has been declined.
If the batch needs to be re-sent to the bank, it will be done by Point. Please
contact Point’s customer service. If the batch has been processed in some other
way, it can be acknowledged from the service or payment terminal.
• PARTLY REJECTED = The response indicates that some of the transactions
included in the batch have been declined.
Action = Contact the recipient and check why part of the batch has been
declined. When the recipient has processed the batch, it can be acknowledged
from the service or payment terminal.
• NON-MATCHING PAYMENT = The payment amount does not match the bank
statement.
Action = Contact your bank and acknowledge the batch from the service or
payment terminal.
Action = Contact your bank and acknowledge the batch from the service or
payment terminal.
service and displays the message ISSUE ACKNOWLEDGED.
If the acknowledgement fails, the message COULD NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ISSUE is
displayed on the screen.
PLEASE NOTE: It is the seller’s responsibility to monitor the
monetary transactions and to remedy potential problems. When
a batch has been acknowledged, it can no longer be forwarded
but will be removed from Point’s service. Batches for which no
