The family-owned company DEGUMA-SCHÜTZ GmbH is a medium-sized mechanical engineering business. We have specialised in overhauling
and modernising pre-owned equipment for the rubber and plastic processing industry.
Worldwide, the demand for rubber and plastic products is on the rise and so is the need for production machinery. Pre-owned machines
have a vital advantage over new machines: faster availability at lower investment!

Sustainability is the central idea of our business model.
We combine efficiency with ecology by upgrading existing
equipment. Second hand, but as good as new.
Our customers include many renowned companies of
the rubber, plastic and PUR processing industries. We
can proudly refer to a customer base of 7,000 customers
worldwide. Our machines run in more than 30 countries.

The special expertise that gives DEGUMA the edge stems from many years of experience in modernising second-hand
machinery according to current standards. To achieve this, we use the latest technology and carry out all mechanical and
welding engineering associated with overhauling and upgrading at our own site. The same applies to the construction and
implementation of need-based electrical controls. That way, we are the single source for all processes involved.
Turning old into new
The bases of our work are the areas design, manufacturing
and electrical engineering. The staff in
our electrical engineering department plays a key
role in this team effort. Their specialisations include
replacing the outdated controls of mechanically
overhauled machines with state-of-the-art controls
and combining these with new energy-efficient
drives. As a result, we get machines that have done
a fine job for many years back into shape, so they
can meet the growing quality demands of today
and tomorrow. The combination of time-proven
mechanics with the latest in electronics is tried
and tested.
All this requires highly motivated, qualified and
creative personnel. Their knowledge and the wellattuned
collaboration of all departments are the

1990 The company was founded in Weyhers,
Germany
1995 Relocation of the company to its present
location in Geisa, Germany, near Frankfurt
1999 Acquisition of the Kannegiesser mould
carrier program for the manufacture
of new machinery used in the PUR
production. To this day, mould carrier
maintenance, repairs and spare parts
are part of our services
2008 expansion of the company site through
a new, additional workshop building
(plant II)
Today we have 5,600 square metres of workshop
and storage area in Geisa, Germany;
this allows us to keep a selection of
approximately 500 machines in stock
at all times

We refurbish and modernise a broad range of machines at our site. Here we can cover all production stages in the
processing of rubber, plastic, and PUR, from mixing the basic compounds to vulcanising the final product. Our stock of
available machines is constantly changing, which prompts many of our customers to check in with us on a regular basis.

our extensive knowledge of the market and our
large number of contacts in the industry, we can
often locate the right machine within a reasonable
amount of time.

Our machines are employed in various production

> development of compounds and testing of the
specifics of compounds (rheology, tensile and
abrasion testing, UV resistance)

as well as trades outside of the rubber and plastic
industry, including the production of cake and cookie
dough, incense, colours (masterbatches), food for

The machines can be inspected at our site in Geisa,
Germany. If desired, it is generally possible to run a
trial with customised products.

Integrated Competency
Generally, DEGUMA is the single source for all services offered. They range from preparation of circuit layouts, construction
of control cabinets and operating panels, wiring of machines and programming of controls to the commissioning of the
machines. Thanks to our network of qualified partners, we can also meet very specific customer requirements.
In line with demand and practice
We sell machines in as-is condition, partially
overhauled or completely modernised. Our range

controls and sequence control systems with
recipe management (higher process reliability
with changing production procedures)
> CE-certification and preparation of technical
documentation
> Upgrading of safety equipment and standards
> Visual refurbishing (cleaning, sandblasting
and revarnishing)
> Add-ons for existing machines / lines (heating
platens for presses, strip cutters and stockblenders
for mixing mills, tempering units for
extruders, etc.)
> Completion of machines with required tool mounting
devices (extrusion heads, preform heads, etc.)
> Adaptation of machines to local requirements, e.g.
voltage, temperature, etc.
From planning to installation
Our services include consulting, reconditioning and
modernising, maintenance (also service maintenance),
repairs, spare parts, and after-sales service.
As part of our full-range service, we also handle
transport to the installation site. We offer commissioning
of the machines as well as instruction for
the operators. This ensures proper functioning of
the machine at its new operating site.
This customer-oriented service is provided by our
team of technicians who have extensive experience
in commissioning machines all over the world.
The same applies to dismantling, relocating and
recommissioning of machines and plants.
In order to prevent production bottlenecks or loss
due to refurbishing or repairs of machines, we can
temporarily employ our own machines as loan units.
DEGUMA also buys pre-owned rubber and plastic
processing machinery. We always consider relevant
offers.
In addition, we offer temporary, fee-based storage
space to customers who are in need of more
floor space at their own plant.
