Usage of low quality NOx reduction<br />

agents puts your assets at risk<br />

• The international standard ISO22241 specifies quality<br />

characteristics for the “NOx reduction agent AUS32” (DEF)<br />

– The main characteristic is the urea content, with a concentration of<br />

32.5%.<br />

• DEF is subjected to quality risks over its lifecycle<br />

– Contamination<br />

– Misfilling the DEF tank<br />

– Tampering<br />

– Temperature variations<br />

– Different concentrations yield different freezing points<br />

Quality of DEF can be measured by speed of<br />

sound and appropriate algorithms<br />
