contribution to the musical life of the whole college and welcomes singers of all faiths and none.

The Chapel is open each day as a place for prayer. Services in Chapel are open to all College members
and staff, their guests and friends. Our services are according to those of the Church of England, but all
are welcome to participate in our worship, regardless of tradition or denomination.

All evening services finish in time for dinner in Hall.

Morning Prayer at 8.15am followed by breakfast
Evening Prayer at 6.30pm (Monday and Friday)
Compline by Candlelight with Keble College Choral Scholars at 9.00pm (Thursday)
Holy Eucharist
Holy Eucharist at 6.30pm (Tuesday and Thursday)
Holy Eucharist is also celebrated on all major Holy Days as indicated each week on the Chapel notice board.

SPECIAL SERVICES
Holocaust Memorial Service, Sunday 27 th January (3
rd Week), 5.30pm
A service for Holocaust Memorial Day that brings together Christian and Jewish communities in
Oxford. The OxfordShir Choir will join Keble College Chapel Choir for this day of prayer and
remembrance.
Mitre Club Evensong and Black Tie Dinner, Monday 28 th January (3 rd Week)
The annual Chapel Black Tie dinner begins with Evensong at 6.45pm and is followed by dinner in
Hall with the infamous hat competition. Look for an invitation in 1 st Week.
Corporate Communion, Wednesday 6 th February (5
th Week), 7.00pm
This service gathers together Christians from across the College, as well as many members of
Keble parishes, for a sung Eucharist followed by a festive dinner in Hall at 8.15pm. The preacher
for this gathering will be The Very Revd Victor Stock, Dean of Guildford and is not to be missed!
Ash Wednesday, Wednesday 13 th February (5
th Week), 6.00pm
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of preparation to celebrate the central
mysteries of the Christian faith: the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All are invited to begin
Lent with this powerful service that includes the imposition of ashes.
Chaplains’ Mission Events, 11 th -15 th February (6 th Week)
Oxford College Chaplains are hosting a week of events in the University Church centred on the
theme: The Beauty of Holiness. Look for posters with more information about talks from worldrenowned
artists, musicians, poets, and writers about how their faith informs their work.

Sung Eucharist (except where stated otherwise)
Each Sunday the College community gathers to celebrate the presence of
Christ in Word and Sacrament. We hear readings from Scripture and a
sermon and receive communion. Keble College Chapel Choir sings the
setting of the service and an anthem; the service also includes hymns and a
congregational psalm. All are welcome. Refreshments are available after
the service.
