Volunteer Opportunities
College of The Arts Usher Corps: Volunteers are needed
for upcoming concerts, performances, etc. Usher Corps members
get “first dibs” on volunteering for events for the season, invitations
to special events, and more. To participate, contact Dawn
Eskridge at 770-423-6650 or complete the volunteer application

Museum of History and Holocaust Education:
Volunteers are needed for multiple positions, including tour guide,
visitor services, administrative support, and special events. For more

In Memoriam
Since the last printing of

Newsletter, we have
received notice of the
passing of two KSU
retirees:
Charlotte Stein Sachs,
94, of Sandy Springs,
whose memorial service
will be held March 25,
2012 at 3 p.m. in the
Temple Kehillat Chaim,
Charlotte Sachs in 2009 at the unveiling of her portrait.
1145 Green Street,
Roswell, GA. Mrs. Lotte
Sachs, who completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at
Emory and was a pioneer of KSU’s Nursing Program, died
January 26, 2012. The family encourages all KSU friends and
family to attend. A portrait of Mrs. Sachs commissioned for
Prillaman Hall, the new Health Sciences Building on campus,
will be displayed at the service. Memorial donations to help KSU
nursing students may be made to the Charlotte Sachs Annual
Nursing Scholarship, C/O KSU Foundation, MD 9101, 1000
Chastain Road, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Dr. Martha Watson Bargo, 84, of Marietta, died January
16, 2012. A Greenville, SC, native, Dr. Bargo retired as a
professor of English at KSU after 22 years. She received her
bachelor’s degree at Furman University and a master’s degree in
Religious Education from Southern Baptist Theological
Seminary and completed both master’s and doctoral degrees in
English Literature at Georgia State University. Graveside
services were held January 19. The family requests memorial
donations be made to The Scholarship Fund at The University of
the Cumberlands, 6191 College Station Drive, Williamsburg, KY
40769 or to the charity of your choice.
