Knoll Project Profile

Sector Focus: Finance
Abacus provides client-centered, holistic financial planning services through collaboration,
innovation and recognized expertise. When the firm relocated to a newly renovated 13,000
square foot space in Columbia, South Carolina's Financial District, it worked with design
firm, Quackenbush Architects + Planners, to readapt the space, adding an atrium and bay
windows to create open views and disperse daylight throughout the office. The firm selected a
range of streamlined office products and iconic pieces from Knoll to foster adaptive re-use of
the office, improve client interaction and implement a collaborative work environment. Abacus
chose Dividends Horizon ® with AutoStrada worksurfaces and AutoStrada collaborative
tables for the open office (cover). Knoll workstations (left) delineate space in the open plan,
while Life ® chairs give employees intuitive ergonomic support and are rated Sustainable Gold
under the SMaRT © Consensus Sustainable Product Standard. A Florence Knoll desk (top
right), creates a classic worksurface for the private office. Saarinen Executive seating and
Florence Knoll chairs complement the timeless interior. MR lounge chairs, Florence Knoll
chairs and a Florence Knoll coffee table (bottom right) create a space that is comfortable yet
suitable for improptu meetings.
