local music while you gaze upon the grandeur and beauty of the Grand Palace from one
of the best vantage points. Following the reception, you will proceed up a grand staircase
into the Hall for an elegant dinner with breathtaking views of the Palace. The evening
will conclude with a traditional puppet show performed by the critically-acclaimed Joe
Louis Puppet theatre. This performance will amaze you with intricate movements and a

Depart Bangkok for Ayutthaya by air-conditioned minivan. Visit the picturesque ruins
of the ancient capital city of Ayutthaya, including Wat Chai Wattanaram, Wat Sri Sanphet,
Wat Monkol Bophit and Wat Yai Chai Mongkol. At 13:00 hrs board the Grand Pearl
cruiser near Bangsai and enjoy the western & oriental buffet lunch on board, while
cruising down the Chao Phraya River towards Bangkok. Coffee and tea are available
free of charge later in the afternoon. Disembark at River City pier at 16:30 hours, where
the Mandarin Oriental Hotel shuttle boat will return you to the hotel.

Visit the Royal Grand Palace, one of the most beautiful samples of an ancient Siamese
court, then go through the dazzling Wat Phra Kaew with its revered Emerald Buddha,
the Golden Chedi, Pantheon of the Chakri Kings, a miniature replica of Angkor Wat in
Cambodia and the eight coloured towers. Wat Phra Kaew is Thailand’s most sacred
temple. Visitors wearing shorts, sandals without heel strap, T-shirts, sleeveless shirts,
divided skirts, Bermuda shorts or tights are not allowed to enter.

thai Cooking Class • Wednesday, October 21 • 10:00 - 14:00 - 5 hours
Upon arrival, a refreshing drink and towel will be served. Then, you will move on to
theory class. Here the instructor will prepare a cookery demonstration of dishes that you
will prepare. Each student will receive a booklet with the recipes of the day. Next, it
will be your turn with the utensils in the practice room. Each of you will have your own
table and wok. You will learn and experience the culinary technique of Thai cuisine under
assistance of the instructor. Four dishes will be prepared. After completion of cooking,
you can now taste and enjoy your own culinary creation in a convivial Thai setting at
the Blue Elephant Restaurant. Transportation provided.
