Jonathan Barnbrook
Barnbrook is one of the most well-known creative
studios in Britain. Their team of designers specialise
in producing innovative books, corporate identities,
CD covers, custom fonts, websites and magazines.
Their clients range from international museums
to charitable organisations. Over the years
Barnbrook have worked and won many awards
in the area of motion graphics working for clients
such as the BBC and Grey Advertising alongside
producing self-initiated projects. Barnbrook also
releases original fonts through VirusFonts that are
used extensively worldwide. Their contribution
to graphic design was recognised by a major
exhibition at the Design Museum, London in 2007.

Nic Benns
Nic is the co-founder of Momoco, a Soho-based
design and live action studio. Having set up the
company over a decade ago, he has been creating
and directing film title sequences, TV titles and
commercials ever since. In 1997, Benns moved to
the US to attend the California Institute of the Arts
on a Disney scholarship and, after working for a
few notable studios, set up Momoco in Hollywood
before returning to the UK to expand the company
in 2000.
His numerous film credits as title designer include
An Education, Nine, Alien vs Predator, Love Actually
and 30 Days of Night. TV title design includes
Luther, Zen, Monroe, Silk, Episodes and Strike Back.
Benns has also, with Miki Kato, produced and
created motion graphics and endframes for
over 150 TV ads. In 2010, his short film Copelia
(starring John Standing, Vincent Regan and Ralph
Brown) was screened in 11 international festivals
and won awards in various categories. He was
also nominated for a BAFTA for the title design
of Misfits (with partner Miki Kato). Benns has also
given lectures on the conceptual process of film
titles around the world at film institutions such as
Pasadena Art Center, Maastrict Lumiere and Bafta.
Stephen Conlon
Stephen Conlon is a founder member and a former
president of the Institute of Designers in Ireland.
He holds a Masters in Business Studies (Hons) in
International Marketing and Diplomas in: Exhibition
Design/Effective Marketing Management/
International Marketing and Market Research.
Stephen worked for 34 years with Enterprise
Ireland, initially in the design and implementation
of Ireland’s overseas promotional programme
and eventually in International marketing
advisory. Stephen has worked in almost every
developed and some undeveloped markets
across the globe. He established and headed up
the Enterprise Ireland’s Design Unit to promote
design development strategies to Irish businesses,
working with companies to redesign and re-launch
existing products and the development of entirely
new ones. The Design Unit was also responsible
for establishing Design Ireland, Stephen has
spoken at a number of International design
conferences on the promotion of design strategies,
Singapore, Sydney, Brno and Prague and Nagoya.
In 2003 Stephen founded Design and Marketing
Management Limited—a strategic management
consultancy specialising in business and new
product development.
John Jenkins
John Jenkins was brought up in Pembroke and
is currently based in London. He graduated from
the Furniture School at the Royal College of Art
and has over 30 years experience having worked
in the fields of manufacturing, retail and design
consultancy.
He has worked in a design or manufacturing
capacity with companies throughout Europe
(including Ireland), from the Baltic to the Balkans
states, Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam, China
and the Caribbean. He currently works (part time) as
Design Manager at the most preeminent furniture
retailer in the UK and also as an independent
design consultant to manufacturers and sourcing
agents in the UK,Europe and the Far East.
John has been a visiting Professor at various top
level educational establishments including the
RCA, Kassel University (Germany), Cleveland
Institute (USA) and the Sotheby Institute of Art
(London).
