Local authority grants<br />
Local authorities may be able to provide grants for home repairs or improvements,<br />
including energy efficiency improvements, depending on your income. You need to<br />
contact your local authority directly for the latest details of the grants including ‘House<br />
Renovation Grants’ and ‘Minor Works Assistance’.<br />
Disabled facilities grant<br />
Local authorities can use the grant to provide certain facilities for disabled people, for<br />
example improving or fitting a heating system. You can claim this<br />
grant if you own your own home or if you are<br />
a renting from a private landlord.<br />

npower energy saving schemes<br />
We may be able to help save you money, energy and the environment with a range of<br />
free or discounted energy efficiency measures and lots of useful advice! If you're a<br />
home owner, call our Energy Efficiency Helpline on <strong>0800</strong> <strong>02</strong> <strong>22</strong> 20 † and see if we can<br />
help you with:<br />
• insulating your walls<br />
• insulating your loft<br />
• improving your heating system<br />
You may be entitled to free cavity wall and loft insulation if you're in receipt of an<br />
income related benefit. If you're not sure whether you're entitled to benefits and<br />
therefore free insulation, we can check your benefit entitlement for you. Just call the<br />
telephone number above to make sure you're not missing out.<br />
Grants information – England<br />
Warm Front<br />
The Warm Front scheme in England is a government-funded program concentrating on<br />
households most at risk of ill health because they live in cold homes. If you’ve got your<br />
own home, or you’re renting a place, and you need help paying for heating and<br />
insulation improvements then you, your partner or civil partner may be able to get<br />
money from the government's Warm Front grants scheme. You just need to contact<br />
them and let them know if you're receiving income or disability-related benefits. Warm<br />
Front Plus, which is for the over 60’s who are on income-based benefits, can also offer<br />
gas or electric heating systems as well as help with insulation.<br />
How much is the Warm Front grant?<br />
Up to £2,700 or up to £4,000 if your home needs oil central heating.<br />

Grants information - Scotland<br />
Warm Deal<br />
Warm Deal is the scheme from the Scottish Executive – the government in Scotland. It<br />
can provide a grant of up to £500 to make your home more energy efficient and keep<br />
you warmer during the cold winter months. Eaga Ltd run the scheme on behalf of the<br />
Scottish Executive.<br />
How can you get help?<br />
You can find out if you qualify for a Warm Deal grant over the phone. You can then<br />
arrange for experienced and qualified staff registered by Eaga Ltd to do the work on<br />
your behalf – we’ll tell you who these people are.<br />

The Scottish Executive Central Heating Programme<br />
This scheme can provide help if your home doesn’t have central heating or your system<br />
is beyond economical repair. The grant doesn’t depend on your income. To be eligible<br />
you or your spouse must be aged 60 or over, own your own home or be renting from a<br />

Grant information - Wales<br />
The Home Energy Efficiency Scheme (HEES) – Wales<br />
The National Assembly for Wales funds HEES Wales and HEES Wales Plus, which both<br />
provide grants of up to £2,700 for insulation and heating measures similar to the<br />
scheme operating in England.<br />
HEES Wales<br />
HEES Wales is aimed at families who receive certain benefits.<br />
HEES Wales Plus<br />
HEES Wales Plus is aimed at one-parent families with children<br />
younger than 16, or people over 60. It also helps people<br />
receiving income-based benefits or Pension Credit, plus those<br />
who are disabled or chronically sick receiving incomerelated<br />
benefits with a disability premium.<br />
Households over 60 but not<br />
receiving benefits<br />
If you don’t meet any of the criteria above, you may still be<br />
entitled to a grant. A check will be done to see if you're eligible for<br />
