and assist you in placing a technically complete and<br />

accurate order. You’ll be given an exact total including<br />

shipping and handling. Mail or overnight the payment<br />

to us. Payment by personal check, comopany check,<br />

Our fax line is available 24-hours a day, seven<br />

days a week. Most parts orders are shipped via<br />

United Parcel Service (UPS) within 24 hours of the<br />

first business day following receipt of the order.<br />

Prepayment can be made by including credit card<br />

information. Credit card orders require a Mastercard,<br />

VISA, Discover or American Express account number<br />

and expiration date, 3 or 4 digit security code,<br />

cardholder’s name, billing address and signature.<br />

Should you wish to prepay your fax order by mailing<br />

a check or certified funds, note that on the order form.<br />

We will fax or phone you back with the exact total<br />

including shipping and handling.<br />

Overseas Orders<br />

We ship worldwide and use <strong>Air</strong> Parcel Post for small and/<br />

or lightweight orders. All large or heavyweight shipments<br />

are sent by <strong>Air</strong> Freight. The air freight forwarder we use has<br />

excellent rates and service. If you prefer we can also use<br />

UPS, Federal Express, <strong>Air</strong>borne, or the carrier of your choice.<br />

Phone or fax you order. We will then phone or fax<br />

you back with the exact cost of the order including<br />

shipping and handling. Payment must be made by VISA,<br />

Mastercard, or an international money order in U.S. funds.<br />

Sorry, no bank wire transfers. If the order is urgent, send<br />

payment by overnight express service. Most parts orders<br />

are shipped within 24 to 48 hours of receipt.<br />

Sales Tax<br />

No sales tax is charged on orders shipped out-of-state.<br />

Residents of Florida and Texas are subject to sales<br />

tax on all orders. Sales tax exemptions are granted to<br />

companies furnishing their sales tax exemption number.<br />

Back Orders<br />

We try very hard to have all catalog items in stock<br />

at all times, however, due to scarcity and long lead<br />

times from our manufacturers, some parts can be<br />

temporarily out of stock. If the item will be back in<br />

stock in a short time period, you will be charged for<br />

the part on the original order. We will ship, prepaid,<br />

as soon as possible. Should the back-order be longer,<br />

you will not be charged on the original invoice. Your<br />

invoice will be noted “back-order” for any parts that<br />

were out of stock. Back ordered items will be shipped<br />

the same day our stock is replenished. Back orders can<br />

be cancelled at any time, unless already shipped.<br />

Ordering & Policy Information<br />

Warranties<br />

<strong>Classic</strong> <strong>Auto</strong> <strong>Air</strong> will replace or repair any defective<br />

rebuilt or reconditioned part for a period of 90 days,<br />

any new part for a period of 1 year , providing the same<br />

part is not covered for a longer period by the original<br />

manufacturer. Warranty is immediately void should<br />

any refrigerant or additive be installed into the system<br />

other than R-12 or 134a. We are here to help — call us<br />

immediately so we may authorize the return and send<br />

a replacement part. Properly package the item, we<br />

will have it picked up and returned to us at no cost to<br />

you. A copy of the original invoice and a short, detailed<br />

explanation must be enclosed with the merchandise.<br />

This warranty is for parts replacement only. We do<br />

not cover labor, refrigerants, or any other item not<br />

supplied by <strong>Classic</strong> <strong>Auto</strong> <strong>Air</strong>. The company shall not be<br />

responsible or subjected to any action for damages.<br />

There are no conditions, representations, or warranties,<br />

expressed or implied, statutory or otherwise, except<br />

those herein contained.<br />

Damaged Merchandise<br />

Please open and inspect your order as soon as it<br />

arrives. If you believe you are missing a part or parts,<br />

call us immediately.<br />

All damage resulting from shipping is the responsibility<br />

of the carrier. Keep all packing material with the box<br />

and parts. Immediately notify the carrier and then call<br />

us with the invoice number from the package label.<br />

We will be glad to assist you in filing a fast and accurate<br />

claim with the carrier.<br />

Returns & Refunds<br />

All special orders and electrical parts are nonreturnable.<br />

Parts and systems may be returned<br />

within 30 days for a refund or exchange. Missing<br />

parts must be reported within 5 days of receiving<br />

your order. Please call or write for authorization<br />

before returning any part. All returns must be<br />

uninstalled and in undamaged factory packaging<br />

so we may resell the parts as new. All returns must<br />

be shipped freight prepaid to C.A.A. with a copy<br />

of the original invoice enclosed. All refunds will be<br />

subject to a 15% administrative/ restocking charge.<br />

Refunds on properly returned merchandise will be<br />

credited to customer’s account. Credit memos may<br />

be used on future orders or customer can request a<br />

cash refund. Allow 30 days from date C.A.A. receives<br />

returned merchandise.<br />

Converting to 134a<br />

Until 1995, most cars with air conditioning used R-12 Freon refrigerant that is said to have a negative<br />

side effect of damaging the ozone layer and is no longer produced in most countries. Now, the industry<br />

standard is R-134a, which is an efficient absorber and carrier of heat without the ozone layer damaging<br />

issues of R-12.<br />

Contrary to popular belief, most cars originally equipped with R-12 can be converted to 134a and still<br />

keep you just as cool.<br />

Recommended steps to converting your<br />

R12 air conditioning system to 134a:<br />

System w/o Suction Valve<br />

Minimum Requirements<br />

• Change or rebuild the filter-drier.<br />

• Drain the compressor oil and recharge with 134a<br />

compatible oil. (PAG or Ester Oil)<br />

• Insure that the system is clean and<br />

free of contaminants.*<br />

• Replace or restore all rubber hoses with barrier hose.<br />

• Install 134a charge port adapters<br />

• Charge with 134a between 70-80% of the original R12<br />

charge amount.<br />

• Replace any o-rings with 134a compatible.<br />

System w/POA Valve<br />

(aka Suction Throttling Valve & By-Pass Valve)<br />

The POA Valve is installed on the evaporator, near the firewall.<br />

Minimum Requirements<br />

• Change or rebuild the filter-drier.<br />

• Drain the compressor oil and recharge with 134a<br />

compatible oil. (PAG or Ester Oil)<br />

• Insure that the system is clean and<br />

free of contaminants.*<br />

• Replace or restore all rubber hoses with barrier hose.<br />

• Install 134a charge port adapters<br />

• Send POA Valve in to be calibrated.<br />

• Charge with 134a between 70-80% of the original R12<br />

charge amount.<br />

System w/Accumulator<br />

The accumulator is most often installed on the<br />

evaporator, near the firewall, but occasionally found in<br />

the middle of the suction hose between the evaporator<br />

and the compressor.<br />

Minimum Requirements<br />

• Change or rebuild the accumulator.<br />

• Drain the compressor oil and recharge with 134a<br />

compatible oil. (PAG or Ester Oil)<br />

• Insure that the system is clean and<br />

free of contaminants.*<br />

• Replace or restore all rubber hoses with barrier hose.<br />

• Install 134a charge port adapters<br />

• Install thermostat if the system is not already<br />

equipped with one.<br />

• Charge with 134a between 70-80% of the original R12<br />

charge amount.<br />

FORD HI-PO ROTARY<br />

COMPRESSOR UPGRADE KITS<br />

High-performance 134a and R12 rotary compressor conversions are<br />

supplied with a Sanden-style compressor, and all required adapter brackets,<br />

idler pulleys, compressor hoses, o-rings, refrigerant tape and a filter-drier*.<br />

Many hose assemblies* are pre-made with factory crimped fittings. Excellent<br />

attention to detail makes for a very attractive under-hood appearance and an<br />

easy installation.<br />

High horsepower engines - No problem! These highly efficient compressors<br />

have a continuous duty rating of 6,000 rpm and require an insignificant<br />

amount of power to turn it.<br />

134a Conversion Kits are identical to the R12 Kit except supplied with<br />

134a compressor and proper hose fittings for system charging. 134a removes<br />

a higher heat load from the interior, so it is extremely important for the fan<br />

clutch and condenser to be in excellent condition on any 134a conversion.<br />

Although the original condenser will work, we highly recommend our new 6<br />

circuit reproduction condenser.<br />

If you drive your Ford daily, then our extremely popular rotary<br />

conversion is a must have option for your factory A/C system. We’ll even<br />

take your old compressor and clutch as trade, or buy it outright when your<br />

installation is finished.<br />

An engine compartment upgrade kit uses a high-performance 6-circuit condenser, stock replacement condenser or parallel<br />

rotary compressor design. The combination will<br />

• Save Horsepower. These rotary compressors draws<br />

significantly less horsepower than a stock Ford<br />

Converting to 134a<br />

Until 1995, most cars with air conditioning used R-12 Freon refrigerant that is said to have a negative<br />

side effect of damaging the ozone layer and is no longer produced in most countries. Now, the industry<br />

standard is R-134a, which is an efficient absorber and carrier of heat without the ozone layer damaging<br />

issues of R-12.<br />

Contrary to popular belief, most cars originally equipped with R-12 can be converted to 134a and still<br />

keep you just as cool.<br />

Recommended steps to converting your<br />

R12 air conditioning system to 134a:<br />

1955-61 Models w/ Hot Gas Valve<br />

(aka By-pass or Hot Gas By-pass Valve)<br />

The Hot Gas Valve is most often found mounted to the<br />

compressor, though some cars have it mounted back near<br />

the evaporator. The front half of it looks like a bullet.<br />

Minimum Requirements<br />

• Change or rebuild the filter-drier.<br />

• Drain the compressor oil and recharge with 134a<br />

compatible oil. (PAG or Ester Oil)<br />

• Insure that the system is clean and<br />

free of contaminants.*<br />

(Depending on component condition, this may be a<br />

simple matter of blowing out with compressed air or<br />

liquid flushing with an air-conditioning flushing agent)<br />

NOTE - Most GM evaporators are of “Plate & Fin” design,<br />

and cannot be liquid flushed while installed in the car.<br />

They must be removed & rotated during flushign process.<br />

• Replace or restore all rubber hoses with barrier hose.<br />

• Rebuild hot gas valve.<br />

• Install 134a charge port adapters<br />

• Charge with 134a between 70-80% of the original R12<br />

charge amount.<br />

Note: Hot gas valve will need to be adjusted during<br />

the charging process to properly adjust the low side<br />

by-pass pressure to 20psi.<br />

• Replace any o-rings with 134a compatible.<br />

• Recommend: Install hi/lo pressure switch.<br />

1962-66 Models w/Suction Throttling Valve<br />

(aka STV)<br />

The suction throttling valve is installed on the<br />

evaporator, near the firewall.<br />

Minimum Requirements<br />

• Change or rebuild the filter-drier.<br />

• Drain the compressor oil and recharge with 134a<br />

compatible oil. (PAG or Ester Oil)<br />

• Insure that the system is clean and<br />

free of contaminants.*<br />

(Depending on component condition, this may be a<br />

simple matter of blowing out with compressed air or<br />

liquid flushing with an air-conditioning flushing agent)<br />

NOTE - Most GM evaporators are of “Plate & Fin” design,<br />

and cannot be liquid flushed while installed in the car.<br />

They must be removed & rotated during flushign process.<br />

• Rebuid suction throttling valve.<br />

free of contaminants.*<br />

(Depending on component condition, this may be a<br />

simple matter of blowing out with compressed air or<br />

liquid flushing with an air-conditioning flushing agent)<br />

including compressor, compressor mounting brackets,<br />

get the job done! Excellent attention to detail makes<br />

for a very attractive under-hood appearance and an<br />

High horsepower engines - No problem! These highly<br />

efficient compressors have a continuous duty rating<br />

of 6,000 rpm and require an insignificant amount of<br />

power to turn it.<br />

Converting to 134a<br />

Until 1995, most cars with air conditioning used R-12 Freon refrigerant that is said to have a negative<br />

side effect of damaging the ozone layer and is no longer produced in most countries. Now, the industry<br />

standard is R-134a, which is an efficient absorber and carrier of heat without the ozone layer damaging<br />

issues of R-12.<br />

Contrary to popular belief, most cars originally equipped with R-12 can be converted to 134a and still<br />

keep you just as cool.<br />

Recommended steps to converting your R12 air conditioning system to 134a:<br />

1962 & Newer Systems<br />

Minimum Requirements<br />

• Change or rebuild the filter-drier.<br />

• Drain the compressor oil and recharge with 134a compatible oil. (PAG or Ester Oil)<br />

• Insure that the system is clean and<br />

free of contaminants.*<br />

(Depending on component condition, this may be a simple matter of blowing out with compressed air or liquid flushing<br />

with an air-conditioning flushing agent)<br />

• Replace or restore all rubber hoses with barrier hose.<br />

• Remove EPR valve from compressor’s suction port.<br />

• Install thermostat<br />

• Charge with 134a between 70-80% of the original R12 charge amount.<br />

• Replace any o-rings with 134a compatible.<br />

• Ignore the sight-glass. A properly charged 134a system will show bubbles in the sight-glass.<br />

High-performance 134a and R12 rotary compressor conversions are<br />

supplied with a Sanden-style compressor, and all required adapter brackets*,<br />

idler pulleys, compressor hoses, o-rings, refrigerant tape and a filterdrier.<br />

Excellent attention to detail makes for a very attractive under-hood<br />

appearance and an easy installation.<br />

* Alternate engines may require additional parts not included.<br />

High horsepower engines - No problem! These highly efficient compressors<br />

have a continuous duty rating of 6,000 rpm and require an insignificant<br />

amount of power to turn it.<br />

134a Conversion Kits are identical to the R12 Kit except supplied with<br />

134a compressor and proper hose fittings for system charging. 134a removes<br />

a higher heat load from the interior, so it is extremely important for the fan<br />

clutch and condenser to be in excellent condition on any 134a conversion.<br />

Although the original condenser will work, we highly recommend our new 6<br />

circuit reproduction condenser.<br />

If you drive your MOPAR daily, then our extremely popular rotary<br />

conversion is a must have option for your factory A/C system. We’ll even<br />

take your old compressor and clutch as trade, or buy it outright when your<br />

What Is An Engine Compartment Upgrade Kit?<br />

An engine compartment upgrade kit uses a high-performance parallel-flow condenser & rotary compressor, along with all<br />

necessary hoses & lines to connect to your car’s original factory a/c interior air conditioning & heating components, using<br />

your factory original engine pulleys.<br />

Why Upgrade?<br />

• High Horsepower Engines - No problem! These high<br />

efficiency compressors have a continuous duty rating of<br />

6,000 rpm and require an insignificant amount of power<br />

to turn it.<br />

• Easy to install - The condenser and liquid lines simply<br />

install the same as the original factory air conditioning parts.<br />
