MSc in Chemistry (120 ECTS)
MSc in Geology (120 ECTS)
If you are looking for a two-year advanced study programme offering both general
and specialised training in geology, then consider the interuniversity MSc in Geology
offerd by K.U.Leuven and the University of Ghent, imparting the social attitudes and
interdisciplinary skills necessary for the best possible solutions for specific geological
problems, the programme will prepare you for the wealth of careers in geology.
Perhaps your future involves developmental tasks, research or management.
Then there’s consultancy in environmental geology, hydrogeology or geotechnology.
Industry offers exploration and treatment of natural resources, while governmental
agencies are interested in the inventory and management of the subsurface and
various environmental issues.
Are you looking for a career as an academic or industrial chemist? If so, your search
stops here. Aiming to train the next generation of researchers, K.U.Leuven’s MSc
in Chemistry puts the globally recognised expertise and authority of its twenty-nine
professors and their four research divisions at your disposal. Beyond course and
lab work, your Master’s thesis will develop your skills in formulating a research question,
placing it in its correct chemical and social perspective, and answering it. Depending
on your choice of academic or industrial career, K.U.Leuven will teach you to be
productive through competition-driven valorisation or peer-driven specialisation.
Collaborating worldwide with other universities, research institutes and companies,
the department provides an excellent platform for you to launch your own career.
and cellular biology to functional and evolutionary biology and on to population and
community ecology. It emphasises problem-solving, independent thinking and communication.
You’ll be trained in the theory and techniques of fundamental and
applied research in one of two areas of specialisation: ecological and evolutionary
biology or molecular and physiological biology. The programme offers the fruits of
the department’s internationally renowned research, which is embedded in established
collaboration with other universities, research institutes and biotech companies
worldwide. Our alumni pursue careers as researchers in academic, commercial or
non-profit organisations, as scientific advisers and policy officers in government or
private administrations, as science communication officers and journalists, or as science
teachers. Where do your interests lie?
