passing of Huell Howser. I would be 

remiss if I didn’t mention him in my 

message to you this <strong>month</strong>. Huell 

wasn’t just a colleague. He was a 

friend. I miss him, and I know you do, 

too. Just remember that he wouldn’t 

have wanted us to be sad for too long. 

He’d want us to get to know the people 

and places in California. Honor him 

by going somewhere you’ve never been. Ask questions 

of someone you never thought you’d talk to. By doing so, 

you’ll be carrying on his legacy. I hope you continue to enjoy 

watching the programs he made for all of us.

Review the story of how women have helped shape America 

over the last 50 years through one of the most sweeping social 

revolutions in our country’s <strong>history</strong>, in pursuit of their rights to 

a full and fair share of political power, economic opportunity, 

and personal autonomy. KVIE’s local MAKERS initiative is 

funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a private 

corporation funded by the American people.

Some historians claim that the Egyptian chariot launched 

a technological and strategic revolution and was the secret 

weapon behind Egypt’s greatest era of conquest known as 

the New Kingdom. But was the chariot really a revolutionary 

design? Follow a team of experts who build and test two 

accurate replicas of Egyptian royal chariots in Building 

Pharaoh’s Chariot (2/6 9PM). Witness a groundbreaking special that reveals a 

spectacular new space-based vision (pictured) of Earth in Earth From Space 

(2/13 9PM). As the nation tries to understand the tragic events at Newtown, NOVA 

separates fact from fiction, investigating new theories that the most destructive 

rampage killers are driven most of all, not by the urge to kill, but the wish to die in 

Mind of a Rampage Killer (2/20 9PM).
