<strong>Korean</strong> laborers given a ride to work at Suwon<br />
<strong>The</strong> Suwon base gets a ground attack alert. All the <strong>Korean</strong>s on the base<br />
were rounded up, accounted for, and rushed off the base. <strong>The</strong>n, the men in<br />
the different squadrons took their assigned positions to defend the base.<br />
This photo was taken facing the flight line. You see a 40mm anti-aircraft gun<br />
(or cannon). <strong>The</strong>re was a creek between the bus and the gun. Later on, the<br />
one 40mm. was replaced by a twin 40mm. mounted on a tank. <strong>The</strong> out house<br />
is on the right of the photo. (circa May 1952<br />
I was walking along the side of the motor pool when I took this photo from<br />
the street as I was on my way to the mess hall<br />
This is a Triple A (AAA) Army Anti-aircraft unit that was stationed on the base.<br />
<strong>The</strong>y had just returned from the firing range, where they would go to sight the<br />
50 cal. anti-air guns. <strong>The</strong> guns were radar controlled. <strong>The</strong>y would follow our<br />
planes as they flew around the base. If any planes were North <strong>Korean</strong> planes,<br />
they would have been shot down.<br />
