The purpose:
To develop future QOC leaders, managers and employees that will add value to the effectiveness of the
QOC.
Types of QOC’s Scholarship Programmes:
1. Scholarship (Overseas) Programme.
2. Sponsorship (Domestic) Programme.
3. Talented Athletes (Overseas & Domestic) Programme.
QOC Scholarship Programme:
QOC’s Scholarship programme aligns with the public policy of Qatarization in relation to Qatar Development
Strategy 2011-2016 and Vision 2030. As a large employer, QOC is committed to developing its workforce
by providing international higher education opportunities to eligible Qatari students. QOC’s International
students are typically placed in western universities, primarily located in the USA and the UK.
The emphasis of the scholarship programme is on the annual recruitment of graduating seniors from Qatar’s
public and private high schools. The final stage of QOC’s International scholarship program is when the
graduating Qatari student completes undergraduate study and returns to QOC as a meaningful member of a
dynamic workforce with unlimited career opportunities.
4
QOC’S Sponsorship Programme:
QOC recognizes the need to project and plan for its manpower needs over the next few decades. A key
aspect of this is an effective recruitment, selection, and personnel assignment program which aligns with
Qatarization as embedded in Qatar Development Strategy (2011-2016) and Vision 2030.
A fundamental aspect of the Sponsorship Program is to ensure “capacity building and career development”
by providing local higher education sponsorship opportunities at select universities for Qataris. A culminating
aspect of QOC’s sponsorship program occurs when the graduating Qatari student becomes a member of a
dynamic QOC workforce.
5
QOC’S Talented Athlete Programme:
Talented Athlete Programme is for the athletic student who excels in or has tremendous potential in a sport,
and who wants to pursue a career in Sports Management, Business, Engineering, Law, or other academic
majors as designated by QOC. Students in this program are recommended by a Sport Federation and are
jointly sponsored by QOC and the Federation. Their athletic talent can be in any sport recognized by a Sport
Federation. TAP tudents may study in Qatar or overseas.
