Background
Goal
Each fact sheet contains data facts on specific injury topics. The data includes
Alberta related deaths, hospital admissions, emergency department visits and
other various data when applicable and available. To date the following topics
have been developed: general injury, motor vehicle collisions, suicide/attempted
suicides, falls, seniors falls, agriculture-related injuries, exposure to cold,
pedestrians, firearms, motorcycles and bicycles.
To provide and increase the knowledge of the injury issue.
Objectives 1. Fact Sheets will meet stakeholders’ needs.
2. Data will be current.
3. The pubic will find the sheets clear and understandable.

Injury prevention requires knowledge of the frequency and nature of injury
incidents. ACICR supports community-based decision making in the
development, implementation and evaluation of injury prevention programs.
To provide timely and current injury data to a variety of stakeholders and
requestors.
