Palmer Township First Responders Highlight 9/11
Remembrance at Embassy Bank
With the Palmer Fire Department's extension ladder towering
more than 100 feet into a clear blue sky, Old Glory
was slowly raised aloft while neighbors joined local police,
firefighters and EMS professionals in a stirring, solemn
recital of the American Pledge of Allegiance.
Such was the patriotic spirit shared by all at the "9/11:
Never Forget" memorial event held in Palmer Township
on Saturday, September 11, 2010, and hosted at the new
Embassy Bank location on Corriere Road.
Highlights of the event included lifesaving vehicles,
equipment and personnel appearances by the Colonial
Regional Police Department, Suburban EMS, Hecktown
Fire Department, Hecktown Ambulance Company and
the Palmer Fire Department. Families were provided with
free fingerprint registration for children and other safety
education services. The event was broadcast live from
Palmer Township to the entire Lehigh Valley on radio
station CAT Country with DJ personality Sam Malone
interviewing first responders from our home community.
Free refreshments were provided to all attendees, courtesy
"We appreciate the turnout for this community remembrance
of September 11 and the support of our Palmer
Township first responders today and every day throughout
the year," said Dave Lobach, Embassy Bank President &
CEO. "We believe the victims and heroes of that tragic
day occupy an important place in American history. Those
souls and the lessons learned from that experience should
never be forgotten. Community gatherings like today's
ensure they never will be."
