The Gaumont and Pathé theaters are striving to improve<br />
access to theaters by developing a large number of innovative<br />
Internet and cell phone services.<br />
E-tickets: a first<br />
In March <strong>2011</strong>, the Gaumont and Pathé theaters<br />
revolutionized trips to the films with e-tickets, which<br />
can be printed or sent to a cell phone after booking<br />
on the cinemagaumont.com and cinemapathe.com websites<br />
or via the applications. E-ticket holders can gain direct admission<br />
to the screening without going to the cash desks or self-service<br />
terminals. The barcode on the e-ticket can be read on hand-held<br />
devices. This handy, free service, which is accessible to everybody,<br />
is a first in the French film world.<br />

Smartphone applications<br />
Following the success of the Gaumont and Pathé<br />
theaters’ iPhone application, an application for<br />
the Android operating system was designed in <strong>2011</strong>.<br />
With its user-friendly interface and ease of access,<br />
the Gaumont and Pathé theaters’ application offers<br />
all the services associated with a trip to the films:<br />
current films, theater offers, a Loyalty Card account<br />
and e-ticket purchasing.<br />

Wi-Fi Access<br />
The Gaumont and Pathé theaters offer<br />
Wi-Fi access across their network.<br />
Filmgoers can therefore get free Internet access in<br />
cinema lobbies and buy e-tickets using their cell phones.<br />
Wi-Fi is restricted to cinema lobby areas to avoid disturbance.<br />
