They fliall call the firft and laft Day of the<br />

Fealts. On the firft Day of the Month they<br />

(hall celebrate a double Feafl", and on the fecond<br />

a fimple Feaft, and they fhall facrifice Oxen and<br />

Sheep, ^c. and (hall eat of them. The firft<br />

Day of the Week fhall be a double Feaft,and they<br />

fiall facrifice Fowls and eat of them.<br />

Note, That a Feftival is therefore called double,<br />

becaufe the People go twice to the Temple<br />

on that Day, and it is call'd fimple becaufe they<br />

go but once.<br />

And farther it is to be noted, that inftead of<br />

Clocks and Watches, we meafure time by an In-<br />

Urument made of Wood, in the form of an Hour-<br />

Glafs, which being filfd with Sand or Water,<br />

runs all out in the fpace of an Hour : And this<br />

being obferv'd by certain Watchmen appointed<br />

on purpofe lor that end, as foon as the Sand or<br />

Water is run out, they beat a Drum, and give<br />

notice what Hour it is, which is the Cuftom<br />

us'd in all Cities •, but the Country People judge<br />

as exaftly as they can what Hour it is by the<br />

Sun, Moon or Stars.<br />

two Fafts : The firft fhall be in the laft<br />

Days, and it fhall be a Preparation for the New<br />

Year ;
