Dear Alumni,
In just a few weeks, Potomac alumni will return to
campus to once again celebrate and reconnect with
classmates, friends and faculty. Shared celebrations
are an important component of the Potomac journey.
On April 27 and 28, you and other alumni can
relive the tradition of May Day, walk the trails you
explored as children and experience new traditions
that help us grow as a community.
In our quest to be sensitive to environmental issues,
we continue to “go green” wherever possible. In
that spirit, this invitation includes only the weekend
schedule and other relevant information regarding
Reunion Weekend. For additional information,

the Reunion tab where you will find details about
the weekend festivities, lodging, registration, who’s
coming and more.
ALL Potomac alumni, regardless of graduation year,
are invited to come together for Reunion ’12. We

Grab your notebook and enjoy the opportunity to spend time
in class with kindergarteners through 12th graders. Pick up
your schedule in the Engelhard Performing Arts Center.
10:15–11:15am Campus Tour
Join Geoff Jones, Head of School, for a tour of the campus.
Tour begins at the Engelhard Performing Arts Center.
11:30–12:00pm Potomac’s Student Art Show
Take a tour with our student artists and with faculty Cort
Morgan and Ida Cook. Engelhard Performing Arts Center.
12:00–1:00pm Lunch Time
Eat with classmates, faculty and students, surrounded by
student art in Engelhard Performing Arts Center. Welcome
from Geoff Jones and Ann Renzy Maclean ’86.
1:00–3:00pm May Day Celebration
Enjoy this annual tradition with your fellow alumni, faculty
and students in the Upper School Amphitheater.
6:00–7:30pm Golden Reunion Celebration Dinner
Head of School Geoff Jones will host the class of 1962 and
every class that has celebrated its 50th reunion.
7:00–11:00pm All Alumni Cocktail Party and Live Music
Join alumni and past and current faculty for a cocktail party
in The Kettler Crossroads and Civalli Courtyard located in the
Upper School. Come listen to sounds of musicians Baron
Tymas’75 (Associate Professor of Music and Assistant Director
of Jazz Studies at NCCU), Kofi Burbridge ’76 (The Derek
Trucks Band and Tedeschi Trucks Band), Oteil Burbridge ’79
(Grammy Award-nominated musician, Allman Brothers Band
and Tedeschi Trucks Band ) and David Moses ’76 as they
come together again to play at Reunion.

10:30–11:30am Trail Walks
Our forests, streams, ponds, and fields of our 90-acre campus
have been part of The Potomac School tradition since Dur
Morton established the trails among them in the 1950s. Come
walk the trails with Bern Hoffmann ’86 for the Environmental
Sustainability Walk & Talk or join Albert Pingree ’00 for the
Family Friendly Walk.

Join your guide and classmates as you tour the campus.
Meet in the Engelhard Performing Arts Center.
11:30am Brunch & Sing-a-long
Enjoy brunch with Head of School Geoff Jones, the Board of
Trustees, the Alumni Governing Council, alumni and faculty
and discuss the state of the School. Interact with a panel of
students as they share their Potomac experience. All of this
will be followed by a fun sing-a-long led by Jerry Rich, Music
Department Chair.
