SensorPulse ® provides industrial signal conditioners, analog I/O 

modules, and power supplies for industrial control, data acquisition, 

test and measurement and PLC control systems. Our products provide 

high accuracy, robust operating temperature ranges, low drift and cold 

junction compensation. The Series MSC & MSP have a convenient terminal 

block packaging that is only 12 mm wide. All SensorPulse ® products are offered 

at low, competitive prices. 

The Series MSC & MSP Micro Signal Conditioning Blocks represent state of the 

art signal conditioning technology. Models feature two and three way isolation, 

programmable inputs and outputs, digital calibration, high accuracy, and high density 

terminal block DIN rail packaging. The Series MSC & MSP blocks are configurable via 

any PC or HPC (Handheld Personal Computer) Windows ® CE palm tops. A complete 

digital design replaces potentiometers with software for calibration via a PC or HPC. All 

setup parameters are stored in a non-volatile EEPROM on-board the unit. The 

configuration files can be saved for backup and restoration of field settings. 

The Series MSC provides analog signal conditioning, isolation, and conversion. MSC 

models are available with Thermocouple, RTD, Frequency, Voltage, Current and 

Potentiometer inputs with outputs compatible with most common voltage or current loops. 

The Series MSP provides analog input or output for PLCs using only one high-speed 

digital PLC I/O per block. MSP Models are available for Thermocouple, RTD, Current, 

Voltage and Potentiometer inputs as well as voltage and current outputs. The MSP 

eliminates the need for an analog card with a Programmable Logic Controller. 

The Series 8500 PLC to Analog I/O and the Series 8900 Transmitters compliment many 

of the more popular product selections from SensorPulse ® . These series of converters and 

conditioners were developed and engineered to fit special applications presented by our 

customers. Over time, the Series 8500 and Series 8900 have found many more 

applications from our creative base. 

The Series SP Analog Signal Conditioners and Loop Alarms feature models with 

Thermocouple, RTD, Frequency, AC Voltage/Current inputs. These units have universal 

power supplies that operate from 85 to 265 volts AC or DC, eliminating the need for 

external power supplies. The low power versions operate from 12 to 24 volts AC or 

DC for portable or HVAC applications. 

The Series SPS Power Supplies offer SensorPulse ® customers an array of 

power options for use with all of our signal conditioning and I/O products. The 

Model SPS-4W is a one-of-a-kind 4 Watt supply in a very small package. The 

Series SPS products are capable of powering many other panel devices 

and/or control system components.

THE RIGHT SIGNAL PROCESSING MODULE FOR 

THE JOB 

SensorPulse ® offers six signal types within the MSC 

family: Current, Voltage, Thermocouple, RTD, 

Frequency, and Potentiometer. Each module can be 

ordered in a Current or Voltage output configuration. All 

models are engineered to meet high quality and performance 

standards with advanced features including: 16- 

bit resolution; two- or three-way optical and transformer 

isolation (to eliminate the concern of ground loops, common 

mode signals and noise); short circuit and reverse 

power protection; and a broad operating temperature 

range of -40 to 75°C. 

COST-EFFECTIVE, COMPACT DIGITAL DESIGN 

The entire MSC family of DIN rail-mounted Signal 

Conditioners are built on a unique digital design that 

minimizes size and cost, and maximizes accuracy and 

reliability. The use of surface-mount digital components 

reduces operating costs, as well as increases reliability 

by reducing power consumption and heat build-up. 

FLEXIBLE, USER-FRIENDLY CONFIGURATION 

MSC Signal Conditioners can be shipped with the 

default input/output calibration or the customer can 

specify an application specific calibration for true Plug- 

‘n’-Play installation. The optional SignalFlex configuration 

software and cable allows the user to re-configure 

and re-calibrate MSC units at will. This Windows ® -based 

software operates on a PC running the Windows ® 3.1, 

Windows ® 95, or Windows ® 98 operating system or on 

a Palmtop running Windows ® CE. For further flexibility 

and convenience, configuration changes can be made 

without removing the unit from the control system.

Model MSC-C/C 

The MSC-C/C is a DIN rail mount signal conditioner that 

provides three-way isolation between the input, output 

and power. The unit’s input accepts ONE of FIVE (0 to 

20 mA, 0 to 10 mA, 4 to 20 mA, ±10 mA, ±20 mA) current 

ranges. Additionally, each input range can be scaled 

down to meet specific, signal conditioning needs. The 

output provides a 0 to 20 mA or a 4 to 20 mA current 

signal that is linear to the unit’s input. 

All MSC units are configured and calibrated at the factory 

to support the input and output ranges specified by 

the customer for plug-n-play applications. The MSC 

input and output signal ranges can be reconfigured at 

anytime with the SensorPulse ® Configuration Package. 

The Configuration Package consists of SensorPulse ® 

Windows ® -based SignalFlex Configuration Utility and 

an MSF Configuration Cable (sold separately). The MSF 

Configuration Cable provides the communication 

between the MSC and an RS-232C communication port.

Model MSC-LI 

The MSC-LI is a DIN rail mount signal conditioner that provides 

two-way isolation (input to output and input to power). The 

unit’s input accepts a 4 to 20 mA current range. The output provides 

a 0 to 10 V, 0 to 20 mA or a 4 to 20 mA signal that is linear 

to the unit’s input. 

The MSC-LI has a Digital Enable input that allows the user to 

enable or disable the output with an external control signal. 

This feature allows the mulitplexing of multiple current-loop 

output devices, into a single current or voltage input device. 


Model MSC-POT/C 

The MSC-POT/C is a DIN rail mount signal conditioner that 

provides two-way isolation (input to output and input to power).

The SensorPulse ® MSP family of products have begun

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Analog input signals

to any ladder logic-based PLC. A small ladder program 

loaded into the PLC enables the controller to capture

default input/output calibration or the customer can 

specify an application specific calibration for true Plug 

‘n’ Play installation. The optional SignalFlex configuration

based software operates on a PC running the

The Model 8560 uses the signal from a magnetic pickup, which 

is being used to monitor engine RPM, and converts that signal 

to a frequency to interface with the high speed counter of a 

PLC. The 8560 allows the Micro PLC to monitor and regulate 

engine speed, engage start/stop functions, provide overspeed 

shutdown, etc. The 8560 opens up a whole new spectrum of 

applications for Micro Controllers with engine control.

These Transmitters/Isolators completely isolate the input

The SP-C4380 Process Signal Converter/Isolator accepts virtually 

all standard process signals as an input, and isolates and 

retransmits the signal in either the same units or virtually any 

other standard process signal. The SP-C4380 can be field programmed 

for reverse or direct action and can receive and transmit 

single sided or bipolar* signals. Low Voltage units (SP-CL)

Terms and Conditions of Sale 

1. Prices and Specifications are subject to change without notice. 

2. Shipping dates are approximate. They are dependent upon credit approval and subject to delays beyond our control. 

3. Terms: Net 30 days to companies with established credit rating. In the event Buyer fails to fulfill previous terms of payment, or in case Seller 

shall have any doubt at any time as to Buyer’s financial responsibility, Seller may decline to make further deliveries except upon receipt of cash 

in advance or other special arrangements. 

4. F.O.B. Point and Title: All material is sold F.O.B. factory. Title to all material sold shall pass to buyer upon delivery by Seller to carrier at 

shipping point. 

5. State and Local Taxes: Any taxes which the Seller may be required to pay or collect upon or with respect to the sale, purchase, delivery, 

use or consumption of any of the material covered hereby shall be for the account of the Buyer and shall be added to the purchase price. 

6. Special tooling, dies, silk screens and molds acquired specially to produce goods for Buyer remain the property of SensorPulse ® Corp., and 

may not be removed. They will be maintained in good condition for a minimum period of three years from the date of the original purchase 

order. 

7. Export Orders: Terms, discounts and conditions of sale for purchase orders originating or for shipment to final destinations outside the U.S.A. 

will be furnished upon request. 

8. Limited Warranty: The Seller warrants all SensorPulse ® and equipment to be free from defects in workmanship or material under normal 

use and service for a period of one year from date of shipment. Liability under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement F.O.B. factory of 

any parts which prove to be defective within that time or repayment of the purchase price at the Seller’s option provided the instruments have 

been returned, transportation prepaid, within one year from date of purchase. All technical advice, recommendations and services are based on 

technical data and information which the Seller believes to be reliable and are intended for use by persons having skill and knowledge of the 

business, at their own discretion. In no case is Seller liable beyond replacement of equipment F.O.B. factory or the full purchase price. This 

warranty does not apply if the maximum ratings label is removed or if the instrument or equipment is abused, altered, used at ratings above 

the maximum specified, or otherwise misused in any way. 

THIS EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF AND EXCLUDES ALL OTHER REPRESENTATIONS MADE BY ADVERTISEMENTS OR BY 

AGENTS AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, BOTH EXPRESS AND IMPLIED. THERE ARE NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY 

OR OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE FOR GOODS COVERED HEREUNDER. 

9. Buyer’s Remedies: THE BUYER’S EXCLUSIVE AND SOLE REMEDY ON ACCOUNT OF OR IN RESPECT TO THE FURNISHING OF NON- 

CONFORMING OR DEFECTIVE MATERIAL SHALL BE TO SECURE REPLACEMENT THEREOF AS AFORESAID. THE SELLER SHALL NOT IN 

ANY EVENT BE LIABLE FOR THE COST OF ANY LABOR EXPENDED ON ANY SUCH MATERIAL OR FOR ANY SPECIAL, DIRECT, INDIRECT, 

CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES TO ANYONE BY REASON OF THE FACT THAT IT SHALL HAVE BEEN NON-CONFORMING 

OR DEFECTIVE. 

10. Acceptance: All orders shall be subject to the terms and conditions contained or referred to in the Seller’s quotation, acknowledgment, and 

to those listed here and to no others whatsoever. No waiver, alteration or modification of these terms and conditions shall be binding unless in 

writing and signed by an executive officer of the Seller. All orders are subject to written acceptance by SensorPulse ® Corp., Kingsbury, Indiana, 

U.S.A. 

Warranty Return Policy 

Warranty Statement 

SensorPulse ® quality products were designed, and are manufactured with tight tolerance specifications. Any attempt to repair or otherwise 

modify SensorPulse ® products will result in the termination of all warranty benefits. Although SensorPulse ® may choose to repair a product 

returned under warranty, it will not attempt to repair products that are beyond the warranty period. 

Return Authorization Statement 

Should it become necessary to return any material to the manufacturer (SensorPulse ® Corp.), a Return Authorization (RA) number must first be 

obtained. A Return Authorization will only be given if the material is within SensorPulse ® warranty period. Telephone SensorPulse ® at 800-447- 

5900 or 219-393-7218 or Fax 219-393-7318 to request an RA#. Be prepared to: (1) Identify the material to be returned (model, S/N, original PO#, 

original sales order); (2) Detail the reason for the return; (3) Provide a Purchase Order - Although the unit may be within the warranty period, 

SensorPulse ® may determine the defect to be a “non-warranty” repair (The customer will be contacted and the Purchase Order will be charged 

accordingly); (4) Describe the “next step” expectations from SensorPulse ® . 

When returning material to SensorPulse ® , the RA# MUST be included on all shipping documents and prominently displayed on the outside of 

the shipping container. 

Any items shipped to SensorPulse ® without a Return Authorization will not be accepted. 

Return Authorization Evaluation/Repair Policy 

Any repairs made by SensorPulse ® will be warranted until the end of the original warranty period (measured from the shipping date of the original 

purchase) or 90 days from the repair date whichever is longer. All pricing and warranty periods are subject to change without notice. 

If a product returned under warranty is determined to be a “non-warranty” repair, there will be a repair cost of 62% of the unit’s list price plus 

shipping. 

SensorPulse ® has the right to determine a RA to be beyond economical repair. The customer will be advised to purchase a new unit. 

Return For Credit and/or Restocking Terms 

Return authorizations will be granted only if all of the following conditions are met: 

1. Product being returned has not been used or altered in any way. 

2. All accessories and packaging are undamaged, unused, and with the unit. 

3. The request for return authorization is within 30 calendar days of the invoice date. 

4. The request for return is not for a special order item, non-stock, and/or large quantity purchases. 

NOTE: All items will be subject to a 25% restocking fee plus freight.
