Simon Howard, Vicar of Ruscombe <strong>and</strong> Twyford with Hurst<br />
informs us that he’s been told the 30-year old boiler is<br />
“on the verge of expiring”. The church is hoping to raise<br />
enough money to replace it next March, but it is touch <strong>and</strong><br />
go whether it will see them safely through the winter. A<br />
campaign to raise the £50,000 needed for a new heating<br />
system in the church is underway <strong>and</strong> the hope is that<br />
individuals <strong>and</strong> businesses from throughout the village<br />
<strong>and</strong> surrounding area will join the congregation in making<br />
donations <strong>and</strong> organising fundraising activities over the<br />
next few months to raise the money. Anyone wanting to<br />
make a donation or organise a fundraising activity is asked<br />
to contact the church office on 0118 9344729 or email<br />

in person at St Mary’s Church Centre in Station Road,<br />
Twyford.<br />
Reading Outdoor Group is a long-established outdoor<br />
activity group that welcomes new members of all<br />
