6 YEARS MUSTANGS The Mustangs played with their jumpers and tracksuit pants on in their match out at arctic Oberon. The team of Matilda, Alex, Alexander, Lachlan and Andrew showed improvements in all aspects of play. Such was the temperature that the team opted out of resting at half time to keep up the heat levels. The team scored a number of well executed goals and continued with their strong defence. The player of the match medal was awarded to Lachlan. Mr. R. Roach 7 YEARS BRONCOS All Saints’ Broncos V Oberon United Cubs The Broncos were missing many of their regular players for this game. However, the heroic Under 6s saved the day by agreeing to play an extra game in order to support our Bronco regulars. A very special thank you to Alex Buckley, Angus Crosier and Andrew Jackman for coming to the rescue. By half –time the score was 2 all after excellent goals from Lachlan Buckley who received excellent support from his team mates. We faded a little during the secondhalf as we had many tired players and the final score was 4 to 2 for the Cubs. Simon Pandoulis was awarded the David Beckham Medal of Honour for Player of the Match. Well done Simon and all of the team. A special thank you to our team supporters who always give great encouragement to the mighty Broncos. Remember there is a general bye this coming weekend. Mr Hines 9 YEARS SOCCER With a sunny but cold day, our All Saints boys started the soccer match with much enthusiasm this week. Following a string of five wins in a row this year, the team was determined to collect number six. Skilful mid field play by Henry and his powerful boot produced a fast game. Thomas, David, Riley, Chris, Bud and Victor produced some fine team coordination, all helping to out play the opposition and keep up the pace of the game. As Goalie, Sam saved many hard and fast goals attempts by Red Tops in the first half and in doing so, kept All Saints ahead. Excellent goal keeping in the second half by Jack did the same. Overall co-ordination helped our boys outplay and maneuver the well prepared City Red Tops this week and this sportsmanship produced the first goal by Cameron. Full of confidence, the team picked up the pace and Matthew quickly scored the second goal for the team. Last week’s Player of the Match Sam scored a great goal and the final goal by Cameron placed All Saints in a 4-3 winning situation before full time. A well deserved Player of the Week went to Jack Morrison. Special thanks must go to Matthew Jackman and Victor Chua for playing this week. Well done everyone. We welcomed Kian Blackshaw into the side for his very first game. He scored 3 goals and now we are trying to convert him from soccer! We had a very strong first half. In the second half St Pats made a surge but we held them off with our solid defence. A special thank you to Tirah and Shona Jarvis who filled in as goalie for St Pats. Our award this week went to Shona Jarvis – well done Shona. Under 10 Rugby Report On Friday 13 th June the Under 10 Rugby Team travelled to Blue Mountains Grammar School for two matches. They were victorious in both games; ASC 10 - Kinross Woloroi 0 and ASC 25 – Blue Mountains Grammar School 5. I would like to congratulate all of the boys for their determined and courageous efforts. I look forward to seeing the boys improve their skills even further and continue to enjoy playing rugby. 6 YEARS BRUMBIES The Brumbies played against a young Eglinton team and displayed some excellent skills during the match. Angus worked really hard at passing the ball, whilst James and Nadia displayed some excellent dribbling skills. Patrick continued to drive the ball forward with some powerful kicks and Ben received the Player of the Match award for his non stop enthusiasm. Well done on another great match Brumbies. I hope you enjoy a well earned rest this Saturday. Mr Cant 7 YEARS COLTS The colts were part of an exciting match on Saturday at Proctor Park. The game resulted in a draw. All players put in their best effort which was excellent. Each week it gets more difficult to choose a player of the week. I wish I could give it to everyone in the Colts! The medal was awarded to Charles Crowley at the weekend and it was very well deserved. Charles was fantastic in defence and he wasn’t afraid to tackle the opposition. Anna Van Heekeren also worked hard in defence. Bailey showed his skills off in attack. Charlie Rumbel was fantastic at marking players on the opposition. Sam Nugent looked up the sideline for space when he was taking kicks. Kian Blackshaw showed great strength with his kicking. Bryn O’Brien was a fabulous team player and he thought carefully about where his sideline kicks would go. We have learned a number of skills so far this season and it is unbelievable how much we improve each week. Congratulations Colts! Miss Keene 10 YEARS SOCCER The ASC U10’s reached a high point in the season last week when they defeated Eglinton 3-1. It wasn’t the win that marked the high point but the way the team played. A complete 50 minutes of passing and teamwork were the pleasing features of our game. From the start of proceedings ASC dominated territory and possession, the combination between Hayden (our player of the week) and David set the benchmark for the rest of the team to follow. Soon Fletch and Wilko followed suit and the pressure finally turned into a fine goal for Henry. The defensive line remained strong with Mathew managing a committed backline with Will (who pulled off the tackle of the day – if only he was playing Rugby it would have been deemed legal!), Marcus, Henry Morgan and Lachy Mac remaining solid. The 1-0 half-time score almost flattered Eglinton who had very few opportunities. The second half began with an Eglinton goal against the run of play but ASC kicked back into gear, a sensational goal from Hayden put us back in front and the final nail was driven in by Henry. The right side wing play from Wilko was again outstanding and the hard work in the middle was once again handled admirably by Victor, Roan, Mathew and Fletch. Cameron worked well up front with Henry to terrorise the Eglinton backs. It was a season defining performance by the team that they can hopefully build on. Mr B. NETBALL REPORTS More great games were played on Saturday with lots of enthusiasm and determination. I was kept on the run as three games were on at the same time. Special thanks to team managers Lisa Coates and Ruth Crampton for their help and a big thank you to the parents who did clubhouse duty for the Redbacks. I would again ask that players arrive half an hour prior to the game. It is quite difficult for team organization when players arrive just as the game is about to start. Good luck for Saturday everyone. Gabrielle Darlington ASC Superfrogs May 31 On Saturday 31 May the Superfrogs took on the Sparkles in a very exciting game. It was neck and neck all the way with goals being scored by Libby, Catie, Katie and Sophie. The defence of Alex and Steph sent the ball back our way many times and our attacking skills are improving all the time. We ended up with a well deserved win. Thanks to our coaches Lauren and Emma and to Mrs Darlington for her never ending encouragement. A special thank you to Mrs Crampton for her warm up skills and the energy boosting mandarins! We are all looking forward to our next game. Sophia Grant. ASC Superfrogs June 14 On the 14th June the ASC Superfrogs played the Eglinton Angels. It was a 2 all draw. The cold wind made it very difficult to shoot and pass. However, we were pleased with how we played. Alex and Stephanie did some excellent intercepts. Katie picked up some tricky rebounds. Sophia and Sophie’s movement and speed around the court was great. Libby and I were just happy to be playing netball. Thanks to Jess for filling in for our coaches Emma and Lauren. Sophia and Alex got players of the week. Catie Crampton. ASC Puppies On Saturday the ASC Puppies played the Collegians Angels. The puppies played a strong game and passed the ball very well. Abby and Priscilla had some great shots at goals and they scored four goals. Selina Betar ASC Redbacks On Saturday 14th June, the ASC Redbacks versed Oberon Snow Devils. It was an enthusiastic effort from both teams. In the beginning Oberon took the lead by one point but by the end of the game we had overtaken and the score was 28-11 our way. Alex Coates put in 100% in being the team leader. She supported us when we were called up for something. We all tried as hard as we could but Emily Brabham showed excellent effort and cooperation during the game. I had heaps of fun playing the Oberon Snow Devils. Hannah Beckley ASC Netta Bunnies On Saturday 14 June the Netta Bunnies played netball versing the Collegians Stars. We played very well. We started off with a really good game. Allie put in lots of effort. We ended up with 4 goals and it was a great game. P & F Meetings – It was decided that the Junior School P & F meeting will now be on the same night as the whole school P & F. The meeting and will be held at 6.30pm in the library. This will hopefully allow more Junior School parents to attend both meetings. 2. Art Show – Thankyou to all parents who assisted in the Art Show It was a great success. Thankyou also to the teachers and students in creating the beautiful canvases for the Art Show. The canvases were a great success and will hopefully continue to be a valuable donation from the Junior School to the Art Show. 3. Trivia Night – Paula Elbourne, Jenny Cartwright and their team have done a fantastic job in organising the trivia night, look forward to a fabulous evening. 4. Fundraising ideas – Some ideas discussed were a pie drive or car boot sale. The pie drive is being investigated further. All ideas are most welcomed. 5. Junior School Athletics Carnival and WAS Athletics – The P & F will again be requiring assistance on the day with baking and volunteers. 6. CWA Morning Tea – Again was a huge success, it was overwhelming to see the amount of support provided from the Junior School Parents.
