The eight weekend workshops over a two-year<br />

period are designed for those desiring specialized<br />

knowledge and skills in youth ministry. Two<br />

weekends give two credits in SOC 339B<br />

(Foundation of Christian Leadership) and<br />

SOC 399C (Skills in Leadership). One weekend<br />

gives one credit in PSYC 294B (Fostering Faith<br />

Growth of Youth Through Pastoral Care). Held<br />

in cooperation with the Diocese of <strong>Davenport</strong>.<br />

Women’s <strong>St</strong>udies<br />

<strong>St</strong>udents pursuing a minor in women’s studies<br />

must select a mentor from among members of the<br />

Women’s <strong>St</strong>udies Advisory Committee. The mentor<br />

will guide and direct the student in selecting<br />

courses.<br />

The capstone experience in the program. Provides<br />

an opportunity for scholarly research and writing<br />

in an interdisciplinary setting. Prerequisites:<br />

WMST 201 and six credits of course work in the<br />

minor, or instructor permission.<br />

Requirements for the Interdisciplinary Minor:<br />

Total of 18 credits including WMST 201, 390.<br />

At least six credits from ENGL 222, PSYC 203,<br />

312; SOC 322, THEO 340, WMST 310, 315. Up<br />

to six credits from BUS 325; COMM 203; ENGL<br />

304,; HED 207; HIST 115, 240, 315, 336, 337,<br />

338; SOC 310, SVLN 201, THEO 300, 362.<br />

WMST 350 may apply toward the minor.<br />

Explores a particular issue related to women<br />

and/or gender in an interdisciplinary setting.<br />
