Graduate Curricula<br />

teen (18) hours include a three (3) hour upperlevel<br />

cost accounting class. A fourth course, MBA<br />

500 (Mathematics for Management and<br />

Economics), is only required for students who do<br />

not score above the 35th percentile on the quantitative<br />

portion of the Graduate Management<br />

Admissions Test (GMAT).<br />

In addition to the three leveling (CPC) courses,<br />

MBA students must enroll in two individual<br />

career needs courses. These courses are listed in<br />

the Individual Career Needs and Concentration<br />

sections of the course catalog. The specific selection<br />

of courses is dependent upon the student’s<br />

academic and/or professional background and<br />

career needs. <strong>St</strong>udents from other than business<br />

backgrounds are advised to take courses which<br />

will provide them more depth in the areas outlined<br />

by the Common Professional Components.<br />

Requirements for the Management Generalist<br />

Master of Business Administration Degree: 45<br />

semester credits in Master of Business<br />

Administration courses including MBA 500, 505,<br />

506, 507, 526, 621, 626, 635, 670, 675, 680,<br />

685, 690; six semester credits of individual career<br />

needs courses, and MBA 800.<br />

Decision Making, and Capstone) are mandatory<br />

courses and must be taken by all MBA students.<br />

No credit by examination is allowed for these<br />

courses.<br />

<strong>St</strong>udents select any two 700-series courses listed<br />

in the Individual Career Needs and<br />

Concentration sections of this catalog to satisfy<br />

individual career needs requirements.<br />

***Leadership Through People Skills (LTPS –<br />

MBA 690) is a mandatory course. It is taught<br />

over one full week (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.). It may be<br />

taken any time during the program. It may be<br />

taken in residence at <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Ambrose</strong> <strong>University</strong> anytime<br />

during the program or on location, on dates<br />

to be negotiated, if twelve or more students<br />

attend the course.<br />

Some students may wish to focus their studies<br />
