WI-CNA 400. Capstone Seminar 3 credits<br />

A general topics and readings course in core computer<br />

networking technologies and management<br />

issues providing a foundation for integrating<br />

communications skills through research paper<br />

development, technical writing, group decisionmaking<br />

and business presentations. Prerequisite:<br />

Senior standing in CNA major.<br />

CNA 499. Internship<br />

1–5 credits<br />

Experiential learning in a professional business<br />

setting, based on an agreement between the advisor<br />

and student on learning contract, placement,<br />

academic project, evaluation. <strong>St</strong>udents prepare a<br />

resume and participate in job screening process.<br />

Prerequisite: Senior standing in CNA major.<br />

CSCI 120. Introduction to<br />

Computer Science<br />

3 credits<br />

Survey of computer systems, the role of the computer<br />

in different disciplines. Applications covered<br />

include an office suite (word processing,<br />

spreadsheet, and database), web browsing, and<br />

Internet research).<br />

CSCI 130. Introduction to Programming 1 credit<br />

Introduction to analyzing and designing a program.<br />

Topics include: top-down design, flow of<br />

control, pseudo-code, variables, reading from the<br />

keyboard, writing to screen, formatting output,<br />

conditional statement, concept of function.<br />

Prerequisite: CSCI 120 or instructor permission.<br />

CSCI 150. Internet Programming<br />

and Applications<br />

3 credits<br />

Internet navigation using web browsing software,<br />

including email, FTP, Usenet News, Telnet and<br />

Gopher. Multimedia applications and plug-ins.<br />

Creating and publishing web pages using hypertext<br />

markup language (HTML). Web scripting<br />

and developing using Java language. Uses a case<br />

study for putting it all together. Prerequisites:<br />

MATH 121 or CSCI 120 or instructor permission.<br />
