stomach, white p). Just caudal to this<br />

is a gas-filled structure (fundus of<br />

the stomach, white f) that has tissuedense<br />

pillars (rugae, white arrow). B,<br />

On the ventrodorsal view the gastric<br />

fundus (white p) <strong>and</strong> pylorus (a<br />

smooth-walled, gas-filled structure,<br />

white p) is seen in the left cranial<br />

portion of the abdomen.<br />

Immediately cranial <strong>and</strong> extending<br />

to the right of this is the duodenum<br />

(a tubular gas-filled structure, open<br />

black arrow). Immediately caudal to<br />

the fundus <strong>and</strong> extending to the<br />

right is the gastric cardia. Diagnosis:<br />

Gastric volvulus.<br />
