Our guarantees set us apart

Knights of Columbus life insurance offers

something precious few other financial products

can — guarantees. As long as you pay your

premiums, the policy proceeds will be there for your beneficiaries

should something happen to you. We call that peace

of mind, and that’s what we offer with our Shield for Life.

We guarantee the cash value in your whole life policies will

be there.

We guarantee the rates on your term insurance.

We guarantee our retirement products will provide a

stream of income when you need it.

On top of those product guarantees, I guarantee that I will

offer professional, high-quality service that you would expect

from our organization.

You don’t have to take my word for it. The Order consistently

earns the highest ratings for strength and security

from AM Best. There is no more highly rated life insurance

provider in North America. When you couple this with all

the charitable and volunteer work of the Order, it’s hard to

beat the value of Knights of Columbus Insurance.

I would suggest that a principal reason that we were able to

achieve those accolades is because we remain steadfastly

committed to the vision of Father Michael J. McGivney by

providing life insurance by brother Knights for brother

Knights.

That commitment is an essential core value of the Order,

and our core values permeate all levels of our organization.

These principles for marketing are summed up by our

Golden Rule: “In all my professional relationships, I pledge

myself to the following rule of conduct: I shall, in light of all

conditions surrounding those I serve, render that service

which, under the same circumstances, I would apply to myself.”

Give me a call today to discuss how our products can bring

that peace of mind to you and your family.

May Knights of the Month: Sir Knights Todd

Knutson and Michael Bruha are May’s Knights for

their work with 2013 Tootsie Roll Drive. Todd spent many hours coordinating

with our knights to help at Holmen Festival Foods and the

Onalaska Wal-Mart. Michael also did some telephoning, and much

coordination with our knights during the drive and donation management.

Both also worked several shifts during the drive. Heartfelt

thanks to Todd and Michael, and all our knights, for a successful

event!

May Family of the Month: (picture not available) Daniel and Mary Luebke,

with daughter Averyl and son Nathan, are the May Family of the Month.

Dan and Mary were very active with our parish youth, preparing three groups of First Communicants.

They helped them through retreats, First Penance, and finally First Communion, helping all

to a deeper understanding of our Catholic faith. Well Done!

“Holmen Knights—Keep

up the good work!”

HOLMEN KNIGHTS NEWSLETTER JUNE 2013 Page 6

Brother Knights: As we move through life, we worry about our jobs, families,

money, vacations, relationships, etc. Just Stop! And give praise to the creator of all that we have. All things come

from God, and all that he demands from us is that we worship and praise him in all that we do. Why are people leaving

God in droves? Why do they obsess with their own reality, and not God? When you move your mindset to God,

you will experience "Peace". We have a God of love, so why not enjoy him and receive his graces?

I have gotten in the habit of thanking God each morning, when I wake up. Everything we have comes from God, so

why not thank him? Don't wait for Church to pray to him. Praying the rosary on the way to work or praying privately

to our God can only make him generous with his graces. Give it a try! Receive his graces and receive his peace.

PATRIOTISM—The 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus

Flag Day (United States) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

U.S. Flag Day Observed by United States Date June 14

In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the

flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental

Congress in 1777. The United States Army also celebrates the Army Birthday on this date;

Congress adopted "the American continental army" after reaching a consensus position in

the Committee of the Whole on June 14, 1775.

In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14

as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.

Flag Day is not an official federal holiday. Title 36 of the United States Code, Subtitle I, Part A, CHAPTER 1, § 110 is the official

statute on Flag Day; however, it is at the President's discretion to officially proclaim the observance. On June 14, 1937, Pennsylvania

became the first (and only) U.S. state to celebrate Flag Day as a state holiday, beginning in the town of Rennerdale.

Several people and/or organizations played instrumental roles in the establishment of a national Flag Day celebration.

The earliest reference to the suggestion of a "Flag Day" is cited in Kansas: a Cyclopedia of State History, published by Standard

Publishing Company of Chicago in 1912. It credits George Morris of Hartford, Connecticut:

To George Morris of Hartford, Conn., is popularly given the

credit of suggesting "Flag Day," the occasion being in honor

of the adoption of the American flag on June 14, 1777. The

city of Hartford observed the day in 1861, carrying out a

program of a patriotic order, praying for the success of the

Federal arms and the preservation of the Union.
