ELE 352 & ELE 352L – EC-6 Learners: Current Issues/Professionalism: Designing<br />

instruction and assessment to promote student learning and creating a positive,<br />

productive classroom environment for the EC-6 learner. This is a field-based plus lab<br />

component course.<br />

ELE 440 – Student Teaching in ECH: Synthesis/capstone seminar for student teachers<br />

with a focus on the assisted performance of student teachers in a professional learning<br />

community. This is a field-based component course.<br />

ELE 441 – Student Teaching in the Elementary School: Synthesis/capstone seminar<br />

for student teachers with a focus on the assisted performance of student teachers in a<br />

professional learning community. This is a field-based component course.<br />

RDG 415 – Reading Assessment and Instruction, This course examines formal and<br />

informal reading assessments and their subsequent use for guiding instruction. Special<br />

emphasis is on struggling readers.<br />

Assisted in writing the Texas Reading First Cycle 2, Year 1 Grant Program for the<br />

Terrell ISD, Terrell, Texas. This grant was funded by the Texas Education Agency of Texas. The<br />

purpose of these grant funds was to enable qualifying education institutions to implement<br />

scientifically based reading programs that help all students achieve reading mastery by the end of<br />

the third grade.<br />

Assisted in writing the Prekindergarten Early Start Tier 1, Cycle 1, Year 1 Grant for the<br />

Terrell ISD, Terrell, Texas. This grant was funded by the Texas Education Agency of Texas. The<br />

purpose of these grant funds was to enable qualifying educational institutions to prepare all<br />

preschool aged children to enter kindergarten on or above grade level and keep them on grade<br />

level in kindergarten and beyond.<br />
