Case studies description<br />

Prior to conduct<strong>in</strong>g empirical <strong>in</strong>vestigation, a brief description of every case study<br />

is presented. The <strong>in</strong>troduction of each case is presented with attention paid to the<br />

means <strong>in</strong> which pr<strong>in</strong>ciple plan components are disposed <strong>in</strong> each neighbourhood <strong>and</strong><br />

overall patterns result<strong>in</strong>g from such arrangements. S<strong>in</strong>ce it is neither the major goal<br />

of this study, nor is it necessary to enumerate <strong>and</strong> explore every social <strong>and</strong> physical<br />

character of the case studies, only issues relevant to study objectives are collected<br />

<strong>and</strong> subjected.<br />

-Basic plann<strong>in</strong>g data <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the situation of a neighbourhood, its site area,<br />

total population <strong>and</strong> number of dwell<strong>in</strong>gs, the major dwell<strong>in</strong>g types <strong>and</strong> time of<br />

construction.<br />

-Site features regard<strong>in</strong>g relationship between a neighbourhood <strong>and</strong> its surround<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

like natural <strong>and</strong> artificial boundaries <strong>and</strong> exist<strong>in</strong>g l<strong>and</strong> use <strong>in</strong> the vic<strong>in</strong>ity of<br />

the neighbourhood<br />

-The situation of major communal facilities <strong>in</strong> a neighbourhood.<br />

-The traffic system <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g vehicular roads <strong>and</strong> pedestrian paths<br />
