Case studies description
Prior to conducting empirical investigation, a brief description of every case study
is presented. The introduction of each case is presented with attention paid to the
means in which principle plan components are disposed in each neighbourhood and
overall patterns resulting from such arrangements. Since it is neither the major goal
of this study, nor is it necessary to enumerate and explore every social and physical
character of the case studies, only issues relevant to study objectives are collected
and subjected.
-Basic planning data including the situation of a neighbourhood, its site area,
total population and number of dwellings, the major dwelling types and time of
construction.
-Site features regarding relationship between a neighbourhood and its surroundings
like natural and artificial boundaries and existing land use in the vicinity of
the neighbourhood
-The situation of major communal facilities in a neighbourhood.
-The traffic system including vehicular roads and pedestrian paths
