BUQUE ESCUELA LA ‘ESMERALDA’ VISITS WELLINGTON How economies in Latin America rank on the strength of investor protection index: How strong are investor protections in economies in Latin America? The global rankings of these economies on the strength of investor protection index suggest an answer. While the indicator does not measure all aspects related to the protection of minority investors, a higher ranking does indicate that an economy’s regulations offer stronger investor protections against self-dealing in the areas measured. The Chilean Navy Training Shipt “Esmeralda” is making her 57th training cruise around the world and Wellington City was the first foreign port of call on the cruise. The steel-hulled, fourmasted barquentine tall ship, which is the longest and second tallest sailing ship in the world, visited Wellington as part of a 260-day, 30,000 nautical mile journey to visit ten countries. It's the 17th time the ship has been in New Zealand.
