performance recently launched a scholarship program for intellectually gifted high school<br />

students. The EMILIO AGUINALDO COLLEGE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP, is named in<br />

honor of the 1 st President of the Philippine Republic, General <strong>Emilio</strong> <strong>Aguinaldo</strong>. The<br />

FULL SCHOLARSHIP (100% discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees)<br />

PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP (50% discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees)<br />

MERIT SCHOLARSHIP<br />

The <strong>Emilio</strong> <strong>Aguinaldo</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>Merit</strong> <strong>Scholarship</strong> was established by the<br />

Yaman Lahi Foundation Inc., a non-profit organization that is sole in-charge of<br />

the operation of the <strong>Emilio</strong> <strong>Aguinaldo</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Its primary concern is to recognize<br />

the intellectual giftedness of young individuals who are destined to give their<br />

contribution towards the improvement and advancement of the way of life of<br />

every Filipino in the generation to come. This is the legacy that the institution<br />

bestows to the mother country. It aims to provide educational opportunity to the<br />

intellectually advantage and deserving applicant through quality education in the<br />

field of arts, sciences, business and technology regardless of the applicant’s<br />

family economic status. It shall aim to continue to serve the public through the<br />

merit scholarship as part of the institution’s corporate social responsibility.<br />

The scholarship grant is given to graduating high school students in both<br />

public and private secondary schools. The applicant must obtain an average<br />

academic grade of ninety percent (90%) and above. The <strong>Merit</strong> <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />

provides a hundred percent (100%) discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees<br />

for full scholarship while partial scholarship grants a fifty percent (50%) discount<br />

on miscellaneous and tuition fees.<br />

CRITERIA<br />

Certain criteria shall be adhered to and complied with by the applicant, to wit;<br />

a) <strong>Scholarship</strong> grant is given to a Filipino born citizen.<br />

b) An average academic grade requirement of 90% and above in the<br />

fourth year level is required.<br />

c) He/She must not incur a grade lower than 80% in all academic<br />

subjects in the last two year level in high school.<br />

d) Applicant must be able to pass the merit scholarship qualifying<br />

examination.<br />

e) At the option of the admitting institution, the applicant may be required<br />

to present himself/ herself for an interview with the committee on<br />

selection.


REQUIREMENTS<br />

The following are the requirements to be submitted to the Admissions Office,<br />

a) Duly Accomplished Application Form<br />

b) Letter of Recommendation from the Principal or Teacher<br />

c) 1 copy of colored picture size 2x2<br />

d) High school Report Card<br />

e) Certification of good moral character from the Guidance Counselor<br />

f) Applicant’s Examination Permit Number<br />

g) Valid School I.D.<br />

POLICY GUIDELINES ON RETENTON OF SCHOLARSHIP<br />

1. The student grantee must pass all the subjects enrolled in during the<br />

semester.<br />

2. He/She should maintain the required grades in the subjects enrolled as<br />

in the following,<br />

a.) Full <strong>Scholarship</strong> – must have obtained during the semester<br />

under consideration a general weighted average of at least 1.50<br />

and no grade/remark below 2.0, U.W. and O.W.<br />

b.) Partial <strong>Scholarship</strong> – must have obtained during the semester<br />

under consideration a general weighted average of at least 1.75<br />

and no grade/remark below 2.5, U.W. and O.W.<br />

3. The student grantee in no case shall only be allowed to avail of one<br />

type of scholarship within his/her stay in college.<br />

4. The student grantee is expected to abide with the policies, rules and<br />

regulations promulgated by duly constituted authorities of the college<br />

or he/she shall loose entitlement to the said scholarship grant.<br />

APPLICATION PROCEDURE<br />

Step 1. Applicant complete and submit application requirements<br />

(Admissions Office)<br />

Step 2. Applicant is notified regarding the schedule of examination<br />

(Admissions Office)<br />

Step 3. Admissions office issues the Applicant’s Examination Number and<br />

is advised to bring a valid school I.D. (Admissions Office)<br />

Step 4. Applicant at the discretion of the school submits himself/herself for<br />

an interview. (Committee on <strong>Scholarship</strong>)<br />

Step 5. Admissions Office notifies the applicant regarding the result of<br />

application (Admissions Office)
