Overview<br />
<strong>Sri</strong> <strong>Lanka</strong> <strong>Cricket</strong> (SLC) is the national sports association for the <strong>Cricket</strong> in <strong>Sri</strong> <strong>Lanka</strong>. SLC owns the commercial<br />
rights for all international matches hosted in <strong>Sri</strong> <strong>Lanka</strong> with the exception <strong>of</strong> matches organized by the<br />
International <strong>Cricket</strong> Council (ICC) and the Asian <strong>Cricket</strong> Council (ACC). SLC wishes to appoint an event<br />
management company to Plan & Implement an <strong>Opening</strong> Ceremony for the World T20 2012 under the<br />
conditions stipulated below during the ICC World T20, 2012.<br />
The opening ceremony for the Event is scheduled to be held in the month <strong>of</strong> September 2012<br />
The ICC and SLC brands are recognized internationally and events conducted by them provide a unique<br />
opportunity to showcase the sport <strong>of</strong> <strong>Cricket</strong> to a global audience. Because <strong>of</strong> the significant worldwide<br />
media exposure that the <strong>Opening</strong> Ceremony will attract, SLC expects all <strong>of</strong> its suppliers for the Event,<br />
including in particular any supplier <strong>of</strong> the Services for the <strong>Opening</strong> Ceremony, to be capable <strong>of</strong> providing<br />
services <strong>of</strong> a standard comparable with those currently being provided to leading international sporting<br />
organizations and rights holders <strong>of</strong> world class international sporting events.<br />
Requisites <strong>of</strong> the applicant<br />

Applicant should have extensive proven experience in providing services similar to the Services.<br />
Applicant should have a strong financial background.<br />
Applicant should possess sufficient resources (including adequately trained personnel) to provide the<br />
Services.<br />
Applicant to be responsible for the development <strong>of</strong> the creative content and production <strong>of</strong> the<br />
ceremony, showcasing the sporting achievements, culture and people <strong>of</strong> the host nations as well as<br />
implementing all production and stage.<br />

Submission<br />
In the RFP, each Applicant is invited to submit its Proposal for the right to plan and implement the <strong>Opening</strong><br />
Ceremony for World T20 2012 and each Applicant must provide an indicative budget in relation to the<br />
content <strong>of</strong> its Proposal.<br />
All <strong>of</strong>fers/ proposals should be submitted in sealed envelopes marked “OFFER FOR PLANNING &<br />
IMPLEMENTATION OF OPENING CEREMONY FOR WORLD T20 2012” and addressed to CEO, <strong>Sri</strong> <strong>Lanka</strong><br />
<strong>Cricket</strong>, No 35, Maitland Place, Colombo 7 On or before 2.00 p.m. 30 th May 2012.<br />
