Limitations of Autoresponders
To get any value from an autoresponder, their e-mail address still has to be promoted. Unlike a
web site, an autoresponder address is "passive". Nobody will discover it in a search engine or a
link at another site.
Autoresponders are no substitute when a personal e-mail is required. They are a good first step in
establishing relationship, such as sending a thank you note, but they are not appropriate for when
an inquirer wants information or has a request for which the autoresponder is not programmed.
Be sure to include in your auto-message an e-mail address where a live human being can be
reached.
