For one Sunday every year, <strong>South</strong> <strong>Shields</strong> is the<br />
focus of the world’s media. This is the story of the<br />
Great North Run, the world’s most popular half<br />
marathon, from its creation to the people who<br />
take part.<br />

Crossing the Tyne<br />

Following the completion of the new Tyne<br />
Tunnel, this exhibition looks at the history of<br />
all the crossings across the River Tyne.<br />
Style it Rich: Kerry Judson<br />
11 February - 14 April 2012<br />
Is fashion art? This new exhibition shows work<br />
by <strong>South</strong> <strong>Shields</strong> based artist and fashion<br />
designer Kerry Judson, and includes images<br />
of icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Lady Gaga<br />
and Betty Boop.<br />

Something Old, Something New<br />
28 April - 8 September 2012<br />
A spectacular array of wedding dresses from<br />
the past 100 years will take pride of place in<br />
this exciting new exhibition, which reveals the<br />
wedding traditions and customs of different<br />
communities in the North East.<br />
