How to find us<br />
Car Parking<br />
There are ample car parking spaces and off-street car parks in Scarborough,<br />
Whitby and Filey. In Scarborough town centre a pay and display scheme is in<br />
operation and beyond the chargeable areas, free disc parking is available for a<br />
limited period. Discs are obtainable from Tourist Information Centres, Council<br />
Offices, most shops and garages. Overnight visitors are advised to contact their<br />
accommodation provider for information regarding parking facilities and<br />

Park & Ride<br />
Scarborough offers a daily, continuous Park & Ride service throughout the year.<br />
Buses run between 7am–7pm every 12 minutes from Osgodby and Seamer Road<br />
to the Sea Front and Town Centre. Car parking is free with a nominal charge for<br />
the bus service.<br />
People With Disabilities<br />
The Disablement Action Scheme helps people with limited mobility to make the<br />
most of their holiday by providing advice on where to eat, where to go and<br />
wheelchair loan. For further details contact Scarborough and District<br />

Shopmobility<br />
Shopmobility provides the hire of powered scooters and manual wheelchairs to<br />
people whose mobility is restricted by permanent or temporary disablement,<br />
age, accident or illness. The Shopmobility service allows people to make<br />
independent use of the facilities within Scarborough town centre. Subject to<br />
availability, we may also be able to provide you with a companion while you’re<br />
out and about.<br />
By Rail<br />
Northern Rail, Virgin and Transpennine<br />
Express run services to York and Leeds<br />
from most parts of the country, and from<br />
both stations there are regular connections<br />
to Scarborough and Filey. The Esk Valley<br />
route to Whitby operates from<br />
Middlesbrough, whilst the Wolds Coast Line<br />
runs from Hull to Filey and Scarborough.<br />

By Bus<br />
There are a number of bus operators<br />
providing services to and around the<br />
coastal towns and villages, including<br />
National Express, Arriva, East Yorkshire and<br />

By Road<br />
The main route to the Yorkshire Coast is the<br />
A64, which can be easily accessed from the<br />
M1, A1, A19, M18 and M62.<br />
By Air<br />
The nearest airports are Leeds/Bradford (70<br />
miles), Teesside (59 miles) and Humberside<br />
(56 miles), with Manchester and Newcastle<br />
only 127 and 100 miles away respectively.<br />
By Sea<br />
There is a daily ferry service from<br />
Rotterdam and Zeebrugge to Hull (one hour<br />

Anyone who has difficulty in walking – young or old – can hire a mobility<br />
vehicle. You must be able to control the vehicle of your choice but if you require<br />
someone to push you around in a wheelchair, we may be able to provide one.<br />
