Faith Partnerships

Habitat and the faith coalitions have a secondary

goal that makes building a safe, affordable home

more than an exercise in speed and efficiency. That

secondary goal is the ‘Theology of the Hammer’-

putting down our differences in order to pick

up a hammer and repair...

It’s not just about helping a deserving family or

getting to swing a hammer.

It’s about what you might be able to learn

... and what you might be able to teach.

Put all these small moments of deeper understanding

together and we can begin to build a community that

really cares about all of its members - those who are

the same and those who are different.”

“A faithful effort to transform houses, lives and neighborhoods.”

…working side by side with people of all faiths to

make a difference together

Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake is...

…partnering with deserving families who will

purchase their very first homes

…building houses and bridges between people as

you learn new skills and about other faiths.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord

saying,“Whom shall I send, and who will go

for us?” And I said,“Here am I; send me!”

Isaiah 6:8
