New commemorative coin<br />

A commemorative coin will be issued<br />

to mark the 70th birthday<br />

of Queen Margrethe II.<br />

The coin will be issued in<br />

three editions, a 1,000-krone<br />

gold coin, a 500-krone silver<br />

coin and a 20-krone circulation<br />

coin in aluminium bronze.<br />

In addition, the 20-krone coin will be<br />

minted in a special proof version for<br />

collectors.<br />

A new portrait of the Queen<br />

The motif of the obverse of the coin is a<br />

new portrait of the Queen by the sculptor<br />

Lis Nogel.<br />

The reverse was designed by Ronny<br />

Andersen, Royal Armorist.<br />

Special exhibition at<br />

Frederiksborg Castle<br />

The commemorative coin will be presented<br />

at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød<br />

15 March 2010 and is viewed on a special<br />

exhibition in the period 10th April –<br />

1 August 2010.<br />

The special exhibition shows the Queens<br />

life officially and privately and her life<br />

history with events in Denmark’s history.<br />

Amalienborg Museum<br />

The exhibition at the Amalienborg Museum<br />

(Margrethe II) opens 9 April 2010.<br />

New 100-krone banknote<br />

The 100-krone banknote, which will be<br />

issued 4 May 2010, depicts The Old Little<br />

Belt Bridge and The Hindsgavl Dagger.<br />
