ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
There is a teacher on duty in the Pre-prep playground from 8.00am. You are welcome to sign your
daughter into School at that time. If you arrive after 8.45am, the time when we bring the children
into the classroom and mark the roll, you will need to take your daughter’s diary to the office where
her late arrival will be noted. If you arrive before 3.25pm to collect your daughter, could we ask
that you stay out of your daughter’s line of sight, as to not upset routines and transitions. If you
would like to come in to the classroom and participate in the activities, please sign up for a morning
on the roster provided. Thank you for your assistance with this.
UNIFORM
Please wear white sandshoes and socks to school every day. If the girls are cold they can wear the
navy/red jacket or the navy tracksuit pants. Other garments are not permitted in Pre-Prep.

Each week, awards will be given out to children who have contributed significantly to our learning
environment.

THIS WEEK IN:
PPA
Gloria and her Aunty Janet came to share their Korean culture. We learned about their traditional
dress and how Korean children respectfully greet their parents.
PPB
This week we looked at the letter “M”, to align with Under 8’s Multicultural Week. Olivia brought
in marshmallows to share and we made mice from different shapes.
PPM/T/C
Mrs Nolan shared her beautiful Indian sari with all the girls in Pre-Prep. She showed the girls how
to put a sari on and discussed different spices found in the Indian culture. When one of the girls
saw Mrs Nolan she said, “Wow, she looks like an Indian princess”.
PRE-PREP OPEN MORNING FOR NEW FAMILES
On Tuesday, 11 June there will be a Pre-prep Open morning for families who are not at St Hilda’s
and would like to find out more about the Pre-Preparatory program. Please encourage any friends
or relatives to register their interest with Louise Lewis on 55 777 232 or
enrolments@sthildas.qld.edu.au .
VACATION CARE
The Vacation Care form for June/July holidays was emailed to parents. The places fill up very
quickly; therefore, you are encouraged to complete the form as soon as possible and either fax it to
the School or put it in your daughter’s diary. Payment must accompany your completed
information otherwise your child’s place is not secured. A letter of confirmation will be sent to you
within a week of receiving the form. Please note that once Vacation Care begins, there will be no
extra bookings taken.

BLACKBOARD
With the acquisition of new Ipads in Pre-Prep, the teachers are now uploading previous PowerPoint
presentations to a new program called Keynote. You will find the presentation in the same place
when you open Blackboard; however, you may need to scroll down the page to locate it. You may
also notice that there will be less slides/pictures per day, although the quality and size will be
superior. If you have any concerns with the new format, please contact me. I will continue to
upload pictures on the Newsletter.
