Recognizing the value of sound and color
in attracting attention, showmen are predicted
to be quick to find uses for a new,
lightweight adjustable turntable which
provides 35 different types of back-andforth
animation for displays. Produced by
Gale Dorothea Mechanisms, the turntable
is rated at one pound, can be run horizontally,
vertically or at angles in between, and
stands only two and a quarter inches high.
The drive for the unit is a synchronous
four-rpm motor for use with alternating
current only. The entire mechanism rests
on a painted angle iron with brackets for
wall or floor mounting. Back and forth arcs
of from three to 357 degrees can be
obtained by merely setting a control pin.

The Liquid Carbonic Corp. has recently
announced its "Automatic" carbonator
that employs a new principle of instantaneous
triple-action carbonation.
T'le heart of the new unit is the aspirator.
A conical nozzle delivers a water jet,
at more than a mile a minute velocity, into
the open end of a glass-filled cone. Carbon-dioxide
gas is entrained in the water
in minute bubbles and with high agitation,
resulting in instantaneous carbonation.
Prom the outer cone the bubble-filled
stream plunges into a cup with further
entrainment of gas and violent agitation.
According to the manufacturers, there
is no waiting for slow surface absorption
of gas into the stored water, no need for
a large tank, since carbonation is complete
in one pass through the aspirator
system. The capacity of the carbonator is
the capacity of the pump and motor supplying
water. There are no moving parts
—nothing to set out of order.
