WESTMINSTER HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN
OBJECTIVE 1.2: Increase the percentage of code compliance within the Westminster Heights
Neighborhood.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1.2.1 The neighborhood association should send letters to landlords of priority properties letting them know
that the neighborhood will not tolerate bad/illegal behavior and/or conditions.
1.2.2. The neighborhood association should host Codes seminars at meetings as well as providing
information through any future association newsletter and/or website.
1.2.3. The neighborhood association should encourage residents to call in Codes and Sanitation issues to:
a. Mayor’s Action Line at 893-7111;
b. Action Online at www.stpete.org; and
c. Codes Compliance Assistance at 893-7373.
d. Sanitation (Illegal Dumping) at 893-7398/ or TIP line: 892-5000
1.2.4. The neighborhood association should consider establishing a codes committee within the association
or appoint a member to serve as codes liaison increase compliance and decrease violations.
INFRASTRUCTURE
GOAL 2: IMPROVE THE PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE WESTMINSTER HEIGHTS
NEIGHBORHOOD.
OBJECTIVE 2.1: Provide and maintain pedestrian lighting throughout the neighborhoods.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
2.1.1 The Westminster Heights residents should continue to monitor the street lighting throughout the
neighborhood and report any lighting outages to Progress Energy 727-443-2641.
2.1.2 Residents should continue to work with the PSR to identify locations where trees obstruct the lighting
so that work orders for raiseups can be submitted.
2.1.3 The neighborhood will work with Progress Energy to enhance service delivery of power, particularly in
the area of 400 blocks of 52 nd and 53 rd Streets South.
OBJECTIVE 2.2: Maintain alleys in good condition throughout the Westminster Heights Neighborhood for
Trash Collection.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
2.2.1 As a neighborhood with an established alley system resulting in the use of 300 gallon community
sanitation containers rather than individual ones, the Association should identify locations where
additional dumpsters may be needed.
2.2.2 Submit the following locations for possible illegal dumping:
a. north-south alley between 49 th – 50 th Streets between Emerson and 6 th Avenues South
b. east-west alley between 52 nd – 53 rd Streets between 3 rd and 4 th Avenues South.
2.2.3 The Association should identify additional potential locations where illegal dumping may be occurring.
