He announced that the terrorist Osama Bin Laden had been killed. A group of Americans killed him in a firefight at a compound in Pakistan. Using certain interrogation techniques on involuntary wartime guests, the CIA acquired the name of a high-level al Qaeda courier, who was eventually tracked going to and fro from said elaborate compound. Over the years Pakistani officials have been very helpful in the the hunt for bin Laden yet not one of them knew in advance about the U.S. raid on the compound, which is close to a military academy. The U.S. assault team flew from Afghanistan into Pakistan using holes in that country’s radar system. Acting on President Obama’s own direction, a “small team” of Americans consisting of 40 SEALs in four helicopters surprised the compound. Tornadoes and floods ravage U.S. Katy Fox Staff Reporter A tornado wiped out houses and killed over 122 people in Joplin, Missouri where 50,000 people live. It was the nation’s deadliest single twister since 1950 when they started keeping official records. While fires from gas leaks burned, threats of hail and more tornadoes hovered above the town. Residents were warned only 17 minutes before the 200 mile per hour winds came roaring in. The National Weather Service said the tornado was an EF-5, the strongest rating. It was a “multivortex” tornado with two or more intense centers of rotation around the larger funnel. In the end about 750 were injured. Just last month, a series of twisters hit six Southern states, killing 300 Navy SEALs burst into his room and found Bin Laden unarmed. Bin Laden made some threatening resistance that caused the SEALS to shoot him to death. A “significant firefight” erupted, however no American was injured. One helicopter was left behind because of mechanical failure. The disabled chopper was detonated causing a large fire which attracted the attention of Pakistani authorities. Bin Laden’s son Khalid was also killed in the gunfire. After killing the terrorist responsible for 9/11, the SEALs swept the apartment and managed to walk away with some valuable documents and computer information. Osama’s body was removed and his DNA was collected. The photo of Bin Laden will not be released because of the violent nature of his death. It is not known how the rest of the world will react to the death of Bin Laden, but as President Obama said, “Justice has been served.” people in its path. In Cuyahoga Falls, trees and power lines downed. The roof of a local fire station folded over causing rain to enter into both the garage and kitchen. Trains were stopped when the storm began to blow down railroad crossing gates.
