Decision on Rotor Design based on

Rotor Dynamic Requirements

• Siemens has experience in turbo machinery since the

beginning of the availability of an adequate converter

design (approx. 25 years).

HSHV-Rotor-

Design

• Based on common requirements like IEC, API and experience

we came to the conclusion that only a solid rotor will have a

reproducible vibration behavior during the whole life time

and will therefore have a low shaft vibration level.

• The above mentioned rotor design is the basis for high

availability and long maintenance intervals.
