I am pleased to welcome all of you, on behalf of the University<br />
of St.Gallen (<strong>HSG</strong>), to the <strong>HSG</strong> <strong>Banking</strong> <strong>Days</strong> <strong>2014</strong>. Some of you<br />
have already honored us with your presence in past years and<br />
some of you will bring a refreshing quality to the <strong>Banking</strong> <strong>Days</strong>.<br />
This year’s <strong>HSG</strong> <strong>Banking</strong> <strong>Days</strong> builds on the success of previous<br />
years providing a bridge between students and leading international<br />
companies from the <strong>Banking</strong> and Financial Industry.<br />
The past years have seen enormous changes to the industry and<br />
the financial markets and the University of St.Gallen has taken<br />
these up in its research and analysis. Therefore it is more important<br />
than ever for St.Gallen’s students to be interacting with<br />
future employers and gaining insight into the future of the industry.<br />
As part of the University’s strategy for working with corporate<br />
partners, I expect that once again the <strong>HSG</strong> <strong>Banking</strong> <strong>Days</strong> will<br />
provide a successful platform and meet the expectations of<br />
both recruiters and students.<br />

It is our pleasure to invite you to be part of the 10th edition of<br />
the <strong>HSG</strong> <strong>Banking</strong> <strong>Days</strong> that takes place from October the 1st to<br />
October the 17th, <strong>2014</strong>, at the University of St. Gallen (<strong>HSG</strong>).<br />
The <strong>HSG</strong> <strong>Banking</strong> <strong>Days</strong> are the biggest recruitment event in the<br />
fall semester and serve as a bridge between the world’s most<br />
prestigious financial services firms and talented students. As<br />
in previous years, the <strong>HSG</strong> <strong>Banking</strong> <strong>Days</strong> are organised by<br />
the Career Services Center of the University of St. Gallen<br />
(CSC-<strong>HSG</strong>) in cooperation with the student initiatives AIESEC<br />
St. Gallen and Bankers’ Club.<br />
We are convinced that the <strong>HSG</strong> <strong>Banking</strong> <strong>Days</strong> once more will<br />
provide a professional platform that enables future careers and<br />
meets the expectations of both recruiters and students.<br />

Opening event<br />
The <strong>HSG</strong> <strong>Banking</strong> <strong>Days</strong> will kick off like last year with the Opening<br />
Event. In a discussion moderated by Markus Kühne (Director<br />
Career Services Center CSC-<strong>HSG</strong>), recruiters and experienced<br />
professionals from the financial sector will debate on<br />
recruiting issues and will be happy to answer all your questions.<br />
The discussion is followed by an aperitif.<br />
The topic of this year’s Opening Event is:<br />
„Uncover the recruiting process – how to succeed<br />
in banking“<br />
The panelists are:<br />

Today’s application requirements of financial services firms are<br />
diverse and cause uncertainty among many students when<br />
thinking about applying for internships or entry positions. The<br />
panelists will give you an inside into the recruiting process, how<br />
it is built-on and what matters in the different stages. What is<br />
important for your CV? How important are grades? Are there<br />
additional tests and how do recruiters evaluate the results?<br />
These will be just a few questions.<br />
The Opening Event is open to all students and no registration is<br />
required!<br />

Participants will take part in a case study. The content of the<br />
session is depending upon the area/group the company is recruiting<br />
for.<br />
Interviews<br />
Students will have the opportunity to take the first step in the<br />
recruiting process with first round interviews. Interview content<br />
and style vary greatly between institutions and whether you are<br />
applying for an internship or a full time position.<br />
Presentations<br />
Presentations offer you the possibility to get to know a number<br />
of interesting companies. You are welcome to meet business representatives<br />
and ask them what you always wanted to know<br />
about their company.<br />
<strong>Banking</strong> Insight<br />
All Students are welcome to join our <strong>Banking</strong> Insight. Company<br />
representatives will present career opportunities, tell you more<br />
about different business fields and what you need to be a successful<br />
applicant. After the <strong>Banking</strong> Insight you have the chance<br />
to exchange with the company representatives in the <strong>Banking</strong><br />
<strong>Days</strong> Lounge. Open door – no application is needed!<br />
