CREATIVITY IN TRAVEL AWARDS PRESENTED
AT CTC-29
Two CTO chapter agents among winners
Juanita Daniel, with Fernando Abreu, CTO Deputy Director
of Marketing (l) and Kerry Cannon, Jr., Group Publisher,
Travel Agent Magazine (r)
Agents, like most professionals, don’t like the
idea of sharing secrets with others in the business,
but the sharing of information could actually
help sales and should even be considered
a necessity to any successful agency,
says Janie Owen of Marathon Tours & Travel in
Boston and member of the CTO New England
Chapter.
Owen was one of three travel agents honored
at CTC-29 as part of the Creativity in
Travel Awards program sponsored by Travel
Agent magazine and CTO. Passport
Owen, who won in the category “Creativity
in Niche and Special Interest”, puts together
packages for people interested in traveling to
destinations that host marathons.
The award for “Creativity in Bridal and
Romance Travel” went to Scott Winsten, president
of International Tours Fifth Avenue, New
York for the company’s HoneymoonsAndWeddings.com
web site.
The “Creativity in Meetings and Group
Travel” award went to Juanita Daniel of Premier
Destinations, Slidell, LA for her creative
Layaway Plan for prospective groups. Daniel is
