AWARD NOMINATIONS SOLICITED
The Harry Schuster Service Award was established by APLD to honor Harry Schuster, a founding
member of APLD. The Award is to be presented to a person who exhibits enthusiasm and selfless
efforts towards furthering the objectives of APLD. APLD is now accepting nominations for the Harry
Schuster Service Award. Nominations should be postmarked no later than November 30. The
nomination form is available on the APLD website at: www.apld.org/apldmembers/award_2.asp.

PUBLICATIONS AVAILABLE FROM APLD
APLD has several publications available for your use. While they are not all free-of-charge, they are
reasonably priced and can help you promote yourself to clients! For a brochure order form, visit the

Be a Landscape Designer: This publication is free, except for shipping and handling, and is intended to
recruit individuals into the profession of landscape design. A perfect handout when speaking to
students or working career fairs at your local schools!
A Guideline to Hiring a Professional Landscape Designer: This publication is a 3-fold brochure that
designers can give to consumers at public shows or just to send to customers and potential customers.
It details why a consumer should hire a professional landscape designer and what to look for when
doing so. The brochure must be ordered in lots of 25 and costs $25.00 per lot, plus $3.00 per lot for
shipping and handling.
Guidelines for Creating Environmentally Responsible Landscapes: This publication represents the
desire of the landscape design community to better assist in making more prudent and informed
environmental decisions in residential landscapes. It can be used as a handout at consumer shows or
to customers. The cost of the publication is $37.50 for a lot of 25, plus $8.00 per lot for shipping and
handling.
