Third Annual Alumni Sporting Clay Shoot Held June 9

The 3rd Annual Sporting
Clay Shoot was held Saturday,
June 9, 2007, at Hunters Run
Gun Club in West Baton Rouge
Parish.
Fifty CHS alumni, family
and friends participated in a 50-
target walking course. There
were a total of 14 teams vying
for Top Gun, Top Team and
the individual award of Best
Potential.
The Top Team Award went
to the Lipsey Team. Members
were Flint Virgets ’78, Mark
Emonet ’87, Bill Chisholm
’94 and Marcus Boyer ’00.
Top Gun winners were Brian
Bateman ’89 and Frank Norris.
The Top Potential award went to
Zeke Wimert.
The tournament ended with
a jambalaya and watermelon
lunch. Paul “Chef” Salvant
prepared the jambalaya and Dana
Vutera sponsored the lunch.
The tournament committee
members were Carl Gremillion
’52, Gerry Achee ’58, Camp
Matens ’60, Flint Virgets ’78,
Mark Emonet ’87 and Dana
Vutera.

Catholic High Community

On Tuesday, May 8, 2007,
Catholic High Connections,
a weekly e-newsletter, was
launched to over 6,000 alumni,
parents and friends of CHS.
The purpose of Connections
is to guide the CHS community
to the CHS Web site, including
faculty, staff, parents, alumni
and friends of CHS, in order to
inform the community of the
students’ accomplishments and
upcoming CHS community
events. The purpose is to share
more news with the community
that may not be seen in other
printed CHS publications,
such as Bear Facts II and Bearly
Published.
Since the launch of
Connections on May 8, hits to
the Catholic High Web site
have increased by 63 percent
compared to the hits the Tuesday
prior to its launch. The Catholic
High Web site also saw a 229
percent increase compared to the
same-week hits one year ago.
Connections will be sent to
existing email addresses in the
