The Tradition Continues

The Golden Lions football program is continuing the

tradition of great football at St. Pius X Catholic High

School that was started in 1958 by the late Coach

George B. Maloof. From 2001 to 2011 the Golden Lions

are 96-34 and have advanced to the state playoffs in

2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and

2011. The 2006 team was a semi-finalist with a 11-3

record. The 2009 team finished with a school record 12

wins and a quarterfinal finish. The 2011 team also went

12-1 and another quarter-final finish. The Golden Lions

have finished in the top ten state rankings in 2003 (#7)

and 2006 (#4) and 2009 (#3). 2010 (#7), and 2011 (#8).

In the past 11 years 34 Players have been named to

the DeKalb County All-County Team, eight players

have been named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

All State Team, and five players have been named to

the Georgia Athletic Association All Star Team, and

one player-Geno Smith has been named to the Army

All-American All-Star Game.

Camp Coaching Staff

Coach Chad Garrison will lead the 6th-8th Grade Camp

and Coach Bob Gilbert will lead the 1st-5th grade camp.

The camp will utilize current and past standout players,

as well as the current members of the coaching staff:

you to participate in our football camp during the

summer of 2012.

We offer two separate camps during the week of

July 9th. The Lion Camp is for rising 1st through 5th

graders and the Lion Pride Camp is for rising 6th

through 8th graders.

Football camp at St. Pius X is designed to give

players a head start on the 2012 football season.

Our day camps aim to teach the fundamentals of the

game. This is an outstanding chance for young men

who desire to play football to learn the game from

the excellent coaches at St. Pius X.

The Lion Camp (rising 1st-5th graders) will focus

on teaching the basic tools that it takes to be a good

football player.

The Lion Pride Camp (rising 6th-8th graders) will

include instruction in the fundamentals of football

and the installing of our base defense and offense

for the upcoming middle school season.

We know that by attending camp each player will

grow not only as a football player, but as a young man.

The cost of camp is $125. Camp will be held

at George B. Maloof Stadium on the campus

of St. Pius X Catholic High School.

This facility has Sprint Turf.

What to Bring

Each camper will receive an official St. Pius X

Football Camp t-shirt when they attend camp.

All registrants must enclose the total cost

for the camp: $125

Please read and sign the following statement:

I hereby authorize the camp coaches to act for me in

the event of a serious emergency (requiring medical

attention) and I hereby waive and release the camp and

its directors from any and all liability for injuries and

illnesses incurred while attending camp. In addition,

I certify that my child is in good health and is able to

participate in all program activities. Furthermore, in the

event of an emergency requiring medical attention, I

shall pay for the services rendered.

• Cleats and gym shoes

• T-shirt

• Shorts

• Socks

• Not more than $4.00 in pocket money for

snacks/drinks.

• Campers SHOULD NOT bring watches, any

jewelry, or other small articles of value which

could be lost easily.
